Registered 9 years agoThe backpack in death stranding is stupidly big it annoyed me within about a minute of the gameplay demo.
Oh it shrinks after a while, thank god for that. Not seeing anything gameplay wise yet that looks great other than having a ladder.

I love Resistance 2 and especially 3. Closest I got to Gears on the PS

I imagine Spider-Man 2 is probably first on the list. Hell I wouldn't even mind a new Resistance but with some less janky gameplay.

They own the Sunset Overdrive IP too, so I'd fully expect to see that franchise appear on PS at some point (though Spider-man and Ratchet & Clank sequels will likely come first).

Yeah, they really should have bought them years ago because they were essentially 1st party.
Because it’s come up during the show I’ll mention it here - Sony are buying Insomniac.
Good acquisition, and not really unexpected.

Really ?
I don’t think Gears has ever really done anything meaningful.
New modes and stuff, sure, but it’s never really done anything of its own, just borrowed ideas from other games and put them into it’s own brand.
Although not the first "cover based shooter" Gears 1 was one of the very earliest to have this and is synonymous with introducing that style of gameplay to a huge audience with Gears.
It is seen as industry wide as the definitive Coop/Survival game in the shape of the original Horde in Gears 2.
Obviously both modes have been copied to death, by other Gears games for a start! but I think it is unfair to say "I don’t think Gears has ever really done anything meaningful" -

Registered 17 years agoThe cover mechanics were copied literally wholesale from Kill.Switch. Gears was certainly more popular than that game but it doesn’t change the fact.
Horde gave us the term “horde”, sure, but survival modes weren’t created by Gears. CoD Zombies, L4D survival and Gears2 all launched in the same month.

He is always bustin my balls, don't know why as I'm sure he is a teddyBear IRL

You actually get a pile of self-indulgent shite, because it turns out those evil, corporate money-men were actually a necessary part of the creative process that fired his earlier works. -

As much as I don't want to agree with this. I do. The very first teaser relased aeons ago looked really cool and I was still hyped/disappointed after what happened with PT/Silent HIlls so was looking forward to it. Since then everything I've seen is just getting increasingly more "wtf" in a bad way. Carrying a baby through some hills, pissing everywhere and making ladders, in order to what, deliver parcels to people? It really does look like crap so far.

@sport I used to think that, but I remember a point, around 3 hours into The Last Guardian, where, frustrated by the godawful controls, shite camera and appalling framerate, I came to the realisation that no amount of artyness can save a genuinely shit game from being shit.
