    Hmm. Just got mashed up by three chimeras that had that purple/pink indestructibility.

    I cut two of them away from the support links, but one seemed to have a circular support drone thingy that did not appear to be attached in the normal way. I thought maybe shooting an arrow through the circle may break the link but that didn't seem to work...

    I realise that sounds like gibberish. But maybe I am missing a mechanism for dealing in with a new kind of drone?

    Just destroy the drone connected to them. You might not be able to deal with the ones that go underground yet but they do stop after a while so if you stay alive you'll be fine. Remember your guns too.

    How nice to see a gaming youtuber describing themselves with an emotion other than angry.

    Love Bayonetta, didn't really like Nier for reasons I'm not really sure about (possibly due to the aesthetic). Should I get this?

    @Psiloc

    Have you played DMC5? The combat is quite similar to the 'V' character in that game.

    You are chained to a 'legion' and control two characters together. It can feel a bit 'patting your head whilst rubbing your tummy' at times, but when it clicks it can be really satisfying.

    The aesthetic is quite divisive. I don't like the character designs much but don't find they detract from the gameplay.

    Oh lordy don't say that. I'm planning on buying this today but absolutely hated the way V played in DMC5, didn't feel like I was in control of anything that happened at all.

    @atothewest

    You do have a lot more control than V does. It is similar, but not the same.

    So, what control scheme is best? A or C?

    I'm really liking this. I'm not very far, think I'm closing in on the end of File 2 but it's just started to click and it's come alive.

    I'm not usually great with action games, I can find them a little bit repetitive but the way they've paced the game with different things to do between all the fighting really helps. Can't wait to get back on it tonight.

    @atothewest I too really, really disliked playing as V but Astral Chain is bloody incredible. As mentioned, there is a similarity of sorts, but this is infinitely more engaging and fun combat.

    I use C. Most like a Platinum game. Bit fiddly for the Arrow legion though.

    I bought this last night, and granted I was a bit knackered and only played it for about 20 minutes, but... I had no fucking clue what was going on. None.

    Into Chapter 6 now.

    This is a really good game. Liking it a lot. Investigations are cool and combat is a lot deeper than it seems at first. Plays well and looks dreamy in hand-held.

    Iím playing it on my 4K TV and it looks pretty good, it can be a little soft at times but I still prefer the experience you get from playing on a bigger tele.

    I've played it entirely handheld so far. File 08 now :)

    @GloatingSwine It's a bit difficult for the sword legion as well.

    This game feels so good to play, is visually stunning, has an incredible soundtrack and is full of charm and unique ideas... But the platforming in this can die in a fire.

    As the chain jumps result in me falling to my death a lot, riding the beast legion does not feel good either.

    Voice acting in this is woeful. Looks lovely though.

    Not feeling the game as a whole after the first hour or two, but definitely sticking with it. After all, I nearly traded Bayonetta in on the 360 after the first couple of hours, but stuck with it. Now it's on THE LIST.

    It's your typical OTT anime stuff isnt it? I quite like it. Love the soundtrack, could have watched the intro credits a couple of times!

    Not happy to hear there is platforming in this game though... never getting finished.
