What a muppet. I've just got to File 5 and have only now figured out how to upgrade Legions and give them abilities. Should make things a bit easier! |

Registered 11 years agoNot sure about the combat, early days for me but I find the camera a little too close to the action so I kind of lose track of enemies. Maybe that's the point, but half the time I just feel a bit lost.
Compared to say Bayonneta or the Transformers game they (Platinum) did, where I felt more spatially aware, here it feels like I'm fighting the camera as much much as the enemies.
Then again I am basically too slow for these games these days.

Registered 11 years agoAlso I don't mind the platforming in theory, except for when you get stuck on scenery and end up falling into the abyss because of it. I'd it had been a bit more refined id quite enjoy it.

Registered 6 years ago@drhickman1983 Do you lock on to enemies? Might be a daft question but unless I'm fighting a boss I tend not to and find it helps to me feel a bit more in control when there's loads of enemies about. -

Registered 6 years ago@Graxlar_v3 Apparently as it builds up your Legion slows down annd attacks less often. -

I tend not to in regular fights for that reason, but I still find myself losing track of whats around me. I do suck though, not even going to bother playing it in the ranked setting tbh -

Registered 14 years agoI really like that the game gives you tangible rewards for wanting to S+ a level and it breaks up the file into sections so you dont have to play the whole file again to get to any fight you need to get the better ranking for. Same way that if you do get a high rank on a fight it locks it so that will never change on repeat attempts if you need to keep replaying a file for better ranks. It's not like Bayo where you have to play every single fight, including hidden Alfheim stages you already beat and do it all perfectly to finish with a good rank.
What isn't great is that particularly on earlier files, they still make you have to go through all the tutorial prompts again, skipping all cut scenes etc. If they turned that off I wouldnt mind but it would be better if they found a way to either replay the file and continue through it as normal or just select a fight and load the game at that point so you're just doing that fight.
Small complaint amongst a few others I have, but overall really enjoying the game.

Registered 17 years agoCompleted last night, really enjoyed it, will definitely play again, like bayonetta and vanquish, I could romp through the early stuff now with a lot more joy. By the end, the combos and stuff I was linking together may not have been amazing but it was pretty and fun.
Good story, bit bubblegum and predictable in places but all in, it's a very nice addition to the switch library. -

Registered 8 years agoStarted this Friday night and am now really getting into it now having just completed file 5.
Im still shite (maybe mediocre as I'm not dying) at the combat and frequently only manage grade d or C, but have had some combat grades a and s...
Am aware there are lots of options in combat but in the frenzy I end up spamming r2 and l2 a lot. I find chain linking a real pain to do. I also miss far too many of counter opportunities. -

Registered 15 years agoI still need to get back to this, but I did really enjoy it until Daemon X Machina grabbed my attention just a little bit more.
There's something about it that clicked with me a little more than most Platinum games. I think it was the anime cop show feel combined with a unique combat system that has so many great accessibility options even the weakest player (me) can have fun whilst looking like they're a pro -

I'm platinum's biggest fan and I didn't like it either. I couldn't wait to play it but once I got my hands on it I found it left me cold. The combat was poor compared to say Boyonetta or Wonnderful 101. The investigation parts were pretty dull and the alternative universe with its drab look and boring puzzles appeared far to often and killed my interest dead. I really wanted to love it. I wanted that platinum adrenaline rush from slick combat and huge spectacle and It just wasnt there often enough. W101 is an all time favourite of mine too. Shame
Well this is one piss weak disappointing platinum game
