| I'm playing it too, but I'm trying to finish Sinking City before I dive in to it fully. |

Registered 14 years agoI'm sort of playing it, in that I haven't officially abandoned it yet, but I think that's coming. I can deal with the jank, in fact it's nowhere near as janky as some RPGs I've enjoyed. My main issue currently is that it feels a bit bland and empty. -

Registered 10 years agoJust started this, thanks to Game Pass.
Still very early, haven't yet departed with the ship. Controls are shit, always have to fight the camera. Looks quite dated. But the world is already drawing me in. Will give it a few more hours. -

Registered 16 years agoRecently completed this. A solid game with good RPG and combat elements. I thought the graphics were pretty nice. Shame this wasn't a proper open world as opposed to descrete areas. Look forward to the sequel. -

Registered 1 year agoWhat's the recommended class in this? Started playing as a mage and didn't particularly gel with the combat in the tutorial so just dropped it, but feel I was a but too quick on that judgement. -

Registered 3 years agoI got past the tutorial, but not much further. Quit before leaving on the ship.
Just felt like any janky C-tier RPG to me. Like a Risen game or something. Glad I got it with my PS+ sub. -

Registered 10 years agoGlad I put it on hold, as now there's a next-gen 4K60 update, being released today.
EDIT: not for those who got it for free through PS+.

Registered 10 years agoOn XSX, this plays much better now. The controls are still the weakest part of this game, but it's quite fun.
The update is 20GB, and there's a new DLC out, quite cheap. -

Registered 14 years agoI was going to grab the DLC until I read it was literally just one quest and lasted under 2 hours. Will get it in a sale as I did quite enjoy Greedfall. -

Registered 10 years agoFinished it today. If it were half as long, it would have been great. But it has way too much padding. It's also tedious not being able to fast travel from anywhere, and instead having to reach a fast travel point first. And not having a faster option than walking, like a horse,
But the world is quite captivating, even if the ending and its supernatural aspect was way less interesting than the diplomatic storylines. -

Registered 8 years agoFast travelling was way improved over the Technomancer at least - in that game you could only fast travel to and from exit points of each map. The campfires made things a lot easier coming from that game.
I'm yet to play the PS5 version, but have it downloaded. I have really fond memories of playing the original on release though. It seemed like the closest thing to a Risen game since Piranha Bytes decided to focus on Elex. -

Registered 8 years agoSo i've ended up playing the PS5 version too. I'm about two thirds through the main game, but have just finished The De Vespe Conspiracy DLC.
It's pretty good actually. Only about 2 hours long, and the new area is quite small, but the quest takes you to some already-visited places too. It's very much in the style of a Risen 2 DLC actually, which might be part of why i enjoyed it.
If you have a spare £5 and enjoyed the game, it's worth a play i would say. There are a few cool unique weapons, and although i didn't find any unique armours, you can buy replicas of new enemy factions gear which isn't at all bad looking.
Quite a clever story and ending too, and i believe your relationship with the factions does play into it slightly. -
