I thought selling above 'RRP' was severely frowned upon by distributors? I'd be amazed if they were not on the naughty list after that, although I'm guessing Game don't hold that much power in the UK market any more.

Fucking bullshit. Retail stores shouldn't up the price above RRP. Game are the sleazy eBay of the high street but nothing new there. If I was Nintendo or their distributors I'd be pissed at this and wouldn't send further stock.

Amazon did it, too. I paid a tenner over the odds last week.

£69.99 RRP. And that's the real crime here, for a poxy game and a bit of plastic. :)

I went from an hour of cycling every weekday to no excercise whatsoever- I'm not even taking my daily government authorised walk! If it stops me turning into a fat slob, 80 quid is pretty cheap...

That was my thought process also. Doesn't stop it being diabolically overpriced for what it is. Like most fitness things.

I think it would really help me out but you have to draw a line somewhere. Iím not going to let a business sponge an extra £20 off me for a game just because itís currently in high demand - no matter how poor things are for Game right now.

£70 is considerably more than Iíd usually pay for a game - I wonít go any higher than that.

If I didn't have access to argos discount I wouldn't own this. It's fun for what it is but I dare say they could have made a similar game just using the joy cons

Really? I think the Ring is really well made and it offers a significant amount of resistance, you won't get anything like the same workout with just joy cons. I'm pretty fit (ultra marathons are my thing) but this gives a pretty solid all round workout, the fact that there are moves that I actively avoid suggests it works!

Given that Switch games are typically £49.99 an extra £20 for the Ring seems pretty reasonable in a world where controllers are £70 a pop.

@ukaskew37 I thought the same thing. Nintendo games retail for £50 anyway, and the ring is pretty well made, so I donít think itís extortionate or anything.

Seems to be very bare game wise unless I need to look deeper

In stock at Very now - sucks that they force a credit agreement on you though before you can buy the damned thing - but at least it's at RRP.

@Baihu1983 It depends on your definition of a game. Thereís a LOT of content and the story mode is quite in depth and long from what Iíve read. But the whole point of this is a fitness aid so if youíre looking for a AAA game then itís not going to be what youíre after.

Just picked one up from here. Don't care about credit agreement, not going to use any.

Peak physical health here I come!

I love the actual game, far better than it needs to be and way, way beyond anything that's been wrapped around a fitness concept before.

I enjoyed the trial of the Nintendo boxing game from a fitness perspective, but found myself missing a wacky RPG type world with weird baddies to punch in the face.

The game is basically a non-auto-runner mobile style experience, punctuated with Pokťmon style battles. As said above, it's way ahead of the usual shite wrapped around exercising. That's based on an hour with it yesterday and, despite being more achey than I'd like to admit today, looking forward to jumping back in tonight.

Even at the gougey £80 I paid for it, I'm very happy with it so far. And the ring really does take it up a notch - free motion with just the remote wouldn't be anywhere near as challenging nor as engaging.

    Rating so far:

    4 Bicep Kisses / 5

I think the missus will really get on board with this too so while it's pricey I think it's a worthy investment. I have fond memories of EA Fitness 2 on the PS3 and can credit it with getting me in pretty damned fine shape, so looking forward to having a sweaty time with this.

I'm going to make my Mrs wear skin tight lyrca and perv on her whilst playing. Also hope the increased exercise makes her frisky. Although we've been married for over five years so highly unlikely.

    Will keep you all posted.

I'm building up slowly but I can do a solid hour now. My legs were killing me for a few days but now I can squat like a Geordie girl after a Saturday night on the Bacardi Breezers.

I'm combining it with my turbo trainer exercise and I have to say if feels like a complete workout. I do wonder how much fatigue that ring had in it though as I bully that fucking thing like I'm strangling a home invader.

@Robbobloke - Thanks for the info re argos stock. Got one on order to pick up next monday. Will be able to give the new copy to the mate who lent me his copy just before the lockdown hit. Was feeling quite guilty that he was having to do without in the current conditions.

Been playing this most days since the start of the lockdown and it definitely works well as a replacement for not been able to get to the gym and fitness classes. Playing on difficulty level 27 and it is definitely challenging (at least for a moderately fit and healthy old man like myself). Up to world 13 and play for around an hour most days.

Just had my first session on this. May have overestimated my fitness levels as itís kicked my arse. Also seems like Iím pretty bad at breathing, not sure how Iím alive to be honest.

My second session today was 40 minutes that left me needing a lie down and a biscuit. 😂

Letís see how long I can keep it up for (fínar fínar etc. etc.)

    Just got to level 9

Couple of questions after an hour's play:

    1) is there anyway not to take damage when doing the Ab Guard? They always seem to damage me for a quarter heart
    2) what difficulty are people on? I've settled at 12 for now. I rarely exercise but am pretty trim.

@richardiox - you can unlock skills that give you a chance to avoid damage completely when guarding but otherwise yes you always take some damage.

I started playing at level 12 and have gradually stepped it up. Playing at level 27 currently. I'm a slightly overweight 50 year old though I do exercise regularly. If you're in reasonable shape you should be able to increase the difficulty a bit.
