He's had concussion issues throughout his career. It does not bode well

Hooley has been tweeting, so hopefully sounds like he's Ok.

It's likely his world cup is over though - they don't want to take any risks where concussion is concerned.

Japan aren't winning this but they're looking better than Scotland did

Yeah some impressive stuff from Japan. 16 phases, if they got a lucky bounce from that kick it would have been a wonder try.

Great game, nice tempo and directness from Japan. Ireland clinging on a bit at times but are not playing badly at all.

Great game, this is much closer than expected. The Scots should be worried.

I guess Ireland aren't all that, after all? I say that as an Irish person who knows little and cares less about rugby.

Wow! Japan were incredible that second half

That losing bonus point could be crucial for Ireloland

Why'd Ireland boot it out after the gong? To ensure the bonus point?

Likely, the pool is pretty open right now and so bonus points might be quite important.

Japan did really well, kept their energy up all the way and their defence was spot on, two guys on the ball instantly every time, and when their chances came they took them well. A well deserved win.

Yeah, I think so. A lot of them were out on their feet and they have a useful bonus point win against Scotland. And would risk giv8ng a bonus point win to Japan. Take the loss and move on.

Ireland have been so outta form this whole year. They might be emulating the NZ teams of old who had a knack of peaking between world cups.

Anyway, biggest game of the tournament now - the Kalahari Cup.

We're the England of rugby. It happens every world cup. We always lose to an Argentina or Japan and fuck things up. But it's ok cause we beat the all blacks in a friendly*

*This is my tell for not being a rugby guy

I know nothing about rugby but I visited Beppu earlier this summer. This statue stood in front of the train station. The shiny uncle not only loves children, he also loves rugby apparently.
