What blows my mind is the thing you find amazing about Japanese culture is how they use apologies as a way of a appearing polite, whereas what amazes me is how they’ll line up their female employees after a business meeting and ask you which one you choose to accompany you to the following dinner like that’s completely normal
I’ve been in Japan for 10 days and lost count of the number of times that Japanese have profoundly apologised for beating Scotland at rugby.

Registered 15 years agoThis was a weird final for me as, having spent the first quarter of the year living in South Africa, I obviously have some affection for the country. But still, I was behind England all the way, just happy the Boks made it.
Can't fault South Africa besides some dodgy calls by the ref. De Klerk was becoming his fired up self and behaving nastily at points, but again, what a talent.
England however, looked panicked from 2 minutes in. I can forgive them for being nervous but their passing said it all - rushed without looking at the receiver. Vunipola and Tuilagi were muted at best. Completely different team to the Semis.
I cared less about winning, but I wanted England to at least give it their all. Was very disappointed

It’s hard to be amazed at things you have no experience of, much easier with things you do have experience of.

Registered 10 years agoFor fucks sake, he shit the thread up when it started and he's bookending it in shit as it winds down. He genuinely gets off on it.
I've enjoyed reading and contributing to this thread - it's a nice change to talk about sport without it turning into bollocks like the football thread, despite the efforts of certain people. -
