I hope the sequel will finally give them the opportunity to circle back to the rhubarb rubbing thing.

Yeah, we seriously need closure on this, it's been too long and the fandom would love it too, significantly adding to bottom line projections.

The slow UX death by a thousand cuts of imdb.com is one of the saddest things on the internet now that gamecriticDOTcoDOTuk shut down

What a great film. And if ever a film didnít need a sequel, this is it.

Brilliant film. Any sequel shouldnít have batman anywhere near it. Unless of course in this world, Batman is only a figure of his imagination and doesnít actually exist.
I must say as much as I enjoyed it, I found it very sad and thought provoking.

User experience I'm guessing. IMDb used to be really good. Now it's barely usable.

A bit late to the party, but I've finally seen it. Thought it was fantastic.

No sequel required. Just leave it at that.

My one gripe - how many times are we going to get the death of the Wayne parents in the alley scene?

If they were going to do another origins story the ventriloquist and scarface would make a great choice. A quiet old man with some form of multiple personality disorder that when he picks up a puppet enables him to become an angry mob boss?

Another day, another Peter Bradshaw article telling the world how much he doesn't like Joker.

Joker would deserve cinematography, score and best actor, but not sure about other categories.

I dunno, that article seems to be more about the lacklustre Oscar nominations this year, rather than targeting Joker specifically. Which you might still disagree with, but it's a pretty common kind of article to write in Oscar season.

I agree fwiw. I thought it was a good film, but pretty far from a "nominated for 11 Oscars" good film.

Heís right, though. Joker is mediocre and shouldnít be anywhere near eleven Oscar nominations.

You could make a case for Phoenix as Best Actor but everything else feels like pandering to remain relevant to The People Who Live On The Internet.

It's almost as if the people who nominate things for the Oscars are out of touch or something.

If they were pandering to me, The Lighthouse would have got more than one nomination.

For me it was very well crafted but it just lacked something for me. It lacked any real emotional connection for me and the social commentary wasn't exactly that incisive or original.

Which is why I'm happy to see it get noms for some individual aspects, but best picture or director... I'm not sure sure.

Did the VVitch get nominated for anything back when it came out? It should have been nominated for all the things.

No but Ralph Ineson threw Al Pacino's shoe over the building after the ceremony so he was the real winner.

    I donít think so.

I suppose itís kind of inevitable that it would sweep the board. Some middle of the road movie always cleans up, so I suppose itís fitting that Joker is this years Bohemian Rhapsody.

Agree. I enjoyed it but not to the extent that I thought it deserved 11 nominations. I don't know, I feel like the Oscars has been by the numbers of late.

I agree. I was glued to the screen for the whole thing. Probably best film of the year for me.

The less said about The Irishman the better. Only managed half of that, and what I did watch was a complete mess. I wanted to turn it off sooner tbh.

Regarding the nominations, theyíre across a wide board so it may pick up quite a few. Hopefully itíll win original score as I thought that was great.

Hoping Parasite wins but think itíll be OUATIH which will clean up.
