I wasnt even interested in this movie and still enjoyed it, so who knows how other villian focused movies would go. Birds of Prey seems like it will be extremely Harley focused.

I thought the scene where Arthur confronts Thomas was really well done. Tension was pretty high that he could act out. Phoenix deserves any award coming to him. I wouldnt say it's a masterpiece but it was enjoyable to watch. Would be weird to say I was 'entertained' by it considering how bleak it is.

It's fine to say you are entertained by entertainment - it's the purpose of the movie.

I'm not sure how happy I am about having that Gary Glitter song stuck in my head for 3 days now though.

    Bammamamalam HEY ballamalam

Well according to sources that I just made up, they had to choose from Rock And Roll Pt2, Smooth Criminal, or I Believe I Can Fly.

    What can ya do?:-P

As far as the ambiguity goes, they were probably going for the "Travis-Bickle-at-the-end-of-Taxi-Driver" effect. And yeah, it's a bit annoying to have people always going on about Taxi Driver in relation to this movie, but that's what you get when you cast Robert De Niro in your movie about a psychotic loner.

At least for me, I just don't think it pulled the ambiguity off as effectively, if that's what it was trying to do. I was never really in doubt about which parts were real (aside from the obvious bits where it was spelled out for you), whereas I was more 50/50 in certain parts of Taxi Driver and King of Comedy.

I think R&RP2 is still fairly well known in the US. Like they still play it during sports events and whatnot.

Obviously his prolific noncing wasn't as well reported on that side of the pond.

It is. They probably couldn't have picked a better song for that scene.

Well to hopefully clarify, I liked the movie but it's not a feel good movie IMO.

God no, that just upsets my eyes. Plus it would be pronounced Waquer.

As for next villain film. Calendar Man please!

With that in mind, maybe this would have been a better choice than Gary Glitter:

I want a Clarke Kent film, without any Superman. Just Clarke being awkward 24/7, paranoid to death about accidentally revealing he can fly and lift planes and stuff. Also, I want him to be an unreliable narrator.

Most importantly of all, the OST must have at least one paedo on it

Smallville fills Lukusís criteria and has a bunch of 30 year olds pretending to be high school students so the paedo angle might be covered there.

Thing is with the success of this they're apparently going to do standalones for other villians. Like who though? Have they got anywhere near as interesting a villian as the Joker in their catalogue?
    Crazy Quilt.

To offer a serious answer, Iíve always thought the Mr Freeze origin was excellent. A dark, gritty version of a scientist trying to save his dying wife and becoming a monster in the process would be great.

    Wonít happen though.... :(

    Isn't he a Megaman villain?

I can just imagine the weapon you get. Either ineffective kites that fly up harmlessly or the entire games enemies doggedly tailing you.

Noooo, I'm talking Woody Alan level neuroses, Kent on the verge of a breakdown for living a lie everyday, and absolutely nothing supernatural in the periphery. Basically just a man going mental. Who may or may not have super powers. Also he is a paedophile.

They don't talk much about his other super power, which is being IT literate so he doesn't have to take his computer to PC World

Nope. No vigilante shit. Just a man in an office thinking disgusting thoughts about his female coworker.

Er, The Office? Same actor although it probably suits Jim more.

    Jim the stalker
