    How is it October already?
Well NaNoWriMo draws near, so here is the obligatory thread, so that we can share our madness and our love hate relationship to writing with each other.

I for one have not the slightest clue of what to do this year, what about you?

Hmmmmm. Thinking about it. I do have a sudden urge to write again.

@sunjumper good evening. Took me a while to find this thread! Are you going for it this year? I am in a creative cul-de-sac so will once again be cheering from the side lines.

I might as well give it a try this year even although I have no ideas.

Not sure if I'm going to enter. I have spent some time writing over the last few days or so. I just started to jot down some ideas in prep for this and I ended up writing about 1500 words. Will see how it develops.

It's good to see that there are still some crazy people here.

In generall I can only suggest to jut jump into the cold water. Best case scenario you end up with 50k of words (or more), worst case you have worked on a new story will have written some cool stuff and you will get feedback. The latter has always been one of the most helpful features of this thread.

    @Carbon_Altered
I'll join the fray again. I'm starting from the same position as you are. I've been trying to come up with a new idea for this year mostly drawing blanks. Now I decided to steal my own ideas.
Right now I have someone with the power over "glories past" in an universe where outer space is filled with liquid. I have not the first clue what all of this is going to be about.
I mean you could join me and we could try to escape the creative cul-de-sac together!

Good luck to everyone attempting this year. I will sit out this time. I'm currently writing and running my first D&D campaign as Dungeon Master (set in the world of Final Fantasy XIV with custom classes I found on Reddit), so that is taking up a lot of time I would normally be using for writing.

I'll try and read what you post and comment if I get the time.

Or you could put your worldbuilding and plotting into the NaNoWriMo counter... Your world will get all the more interesting as you'll probably go the extra mile.

I might as well put my name down again and then fail miserably day one.

If last year you utterly failed this year you can do better. Even if it is only one chapter or an opening paragraph.

Plus it takes 30 days to fail. I usually run out of steam after 30k words or so. I'm thinking a generic fantasy story this year.

Two more days until the madness begins. Any plots, plans or outlines?

It's not strictly a part but I'm going to have a go at writing a radio play. Much much shorter, at the moment have got no chance of writing a novel.

    Get ready everyone.

Tonight at midnight NaNoWriMo begins. The perfect moment to geet some early words in.

Which sub forum is this thread on? I might be looking with my elbows but the only way I can find it is via google-fu. No sign on general non gaming?

I somehow manged to have pretty much zero free time now during this first NaNo-weekend...

But I forced myself to do some writing anyway. Sleep is overrated anyway, right?

I'm not fully committing to this because to do so would be to fail, but I did just write about 1,500 words.

Just commit to writing in November. Forget about the 50k.

Writing with zero time is so much fun!

Just started with Chapter 1 and it is like pulling teeth. But slow and steady (if shit) is still better than nothing.
