Well, it works.
I played half an hour of Gears 5 on my phone earlier. I say played half an hour. I played for about 10 minutes and sat through 20 minutes of cutscenes. There was a lot of input lag and it did get a bit choppy in places but on the whole it works pretty well for what it is. 4 games to choose from currently, Gears 5, Halo 5, Sea of Thieves and Killer Instinct. Given my brief experience with Gears, Killer Instinct seems a bit ambitious as a demo title but I guess they reason that if they can get that playable then everything else should be easy. Worth a look if you get the chance, but obviously more of a novelty at the moment. -

Registered 15 years agoI think they should have gone with a different name for this. Whenever I read about it I think of that aborted attempt to compete with PS4's performance advantage by using the "power of the cloud".
I'm curious to see how this performs but I don't see how software can ever overcome the physcal latency issue.

Registered 11 years agoWoo just checked and have my email too. Will be trying this out over the weekend on my oneplus. Killer instinct does seem a bit ambitious. -
Console streaming has rolled out to the preview, you should now be able to stream any game installed on your Xbone (excluding BC titles). -

Registered 16 years agoYes you got to be level 5 in the insider app by jumping through hoops for a bit it seems, unless there is a way to apply direct. -

Registered 15 years agoLooking forward to this, just hoping they add iOS support before long. Until then OneCast does a decent job. -

Registered 13 years agoI tried xCloud yesterday and I was very sceptical going in but pleasantly surprised.
Run's pretty well on my home broadband a few little hickups here and there while playing Forza Horizon but nothing major. Then I gave Mutant Year Zero a bash and that was flawless. I guess the take away for me dependant on the game genre mileage is going to vary.
I've gone from hating on the idea to actually being fine with it. That said, I won't be replacing my home consoles any time soon thank you! -

Registered 12 years agoI played quite a lot of Shenmue II over console streaming last week, and it worked well enough for that. There's definitely some latency there (obvs), but it felt to me like playing on a TV with no game mode, and I adjusted quickly enough. Handy option to have if you can't get on the TV, or you're staying with your folks over Christmas or something. -
Didn't realise I had an invite. Had a quick blast on ace combat 7 and it works well enough. Ordered a phone clip for the pad so will give it a proper whirl later this week. -

Registered 7 years ago@Addy__ also, how do I get your life? You play literally every single game. My game time generally has to be after hours after everybody else is asleep... -

That is exactly my life mate. I only get on around 10pm during the week and same at weekends. I'm often up with the autistic terrors from 2-6am most days so can sometimes get an hour in here and there. You most certainly don't want my life. It's a fucking emotional stress laden experience lol.

Registered 20 years agoNot sure if it was my crummy Galaxt A10 or a patchy connection (xcloud via wifi) but experienced a fair bit of visual smearing though controller response was pretty good. Small fonts ain't helping either!
Impressive though - will try some other stuff soon. Maybe something less twitchy or with more static backdrops.
Actually maybe wifi was playing up. FAST.COM reported 16Mbps but after reboot that reads 38Mbps on the phone... -
Unusable on my Huawei P9. Seems the wifi on it goes to shit with any bluetooth device connected -
Doesn't work for me either. Shitty Sky Hub with no 5ghz

Registered 13 years agoI had problems getting it to run initially, but my solution was to start the stream with mobile data on then switched to WiFi.
Worked like an (almost) charm after that. -
I have the Sky Router with 5Ghz and it is still unusable. I presumed it was because of the bluetooth but perhaps not. I can't try the mobile data as I don't really use my phone anywhere without wifi so don't have any kind of data plan.
Shame they only seem to want it used on phones atm. It's not available on eithe rof my Android tablets.

Just got this as well, anyone got a phone holder that clips to the pad?
