Yeah, that was great. I wonder what Moore would think about it as, really, thereís very little to complain about.

So they explained the squid thing. Question for anyone who hasn't read the comic: do you... feel enlightened now?

Well I knew it was coming as I'd heard it mentioned elsewhere and the Senator being cavalry was inevitable. So don't think I would use the term enlightened.

But overall I enjoyed the episode, it moved things forward and the plans for the portal are interesting. Plus I really like looking glass as a character.

"You're a good woman" he says, minutes after watching her apparently dispose of a little dog without a second thought...

He has the most batshit insane 5 mins of TV I think I've ever seen in ep 4. I'm honestly struggling to think of anything much weirder.

Having only watched the film and not read the comics:

Is Rorshach (sp?) a baddie? He was a goodie in the film but the Cavalry are based off him. Or have they just twisted it to use him for their purposes.

Whilst Iím here- there was a random scene in the film (I think when he was in jail) of someone saying how much he smells. What was the significance of that? Or have I dreamt it?

Calling him a "goodie" is a pretty big oversimplification of the character.

Pretty much all of his internal monologue frames him as, at best, mentally ill, which is one of the reasons he smells like piss.

He's a complicated man and no one understands him but his woman.

He's single and possibly a repressed homosexual though.

If stinking of piss makes you evil then this forum would be worse than an ISIS training camp.

    Yeah bloody great stuff that.

The way Lindelhof plays with time is pretty masterful. It was great in (most of) Lost. The Leftovers took this further, fuck me that was a good show - if you like this then seek it out by any means possible.

I hope it's three seasons and done, there's plenty of scope for other stories in the universe.

Clones and portals, Clones and portals.

Are the Kavalry using portals to open up alternate universes or within their own universe to fuck opponents up?

They appear to be working for the asian lady who is building the millennium clock (some kind of time machine?), if the box in the back of the truck is anything to go by.

Sheís working with Enemy Mine, who killed Miami Vice. The cavalry asked who killed Miami Vice, so they seem like separate factions.

The alternate worlds thing was shown pretty definitively as bullshit, this is probably hacked together teleportation tech hacked together/inspired from what Ozy used to teleport the brain squid into New York.

They are probably working on the teleported for a caper. Probably stealing Rorschachs diary or some Ozy tech from a vault or something.

Just catching up with this now, it's a bit fucking good eh.

Nice to see Gossett Jr. In something too, he's never really had the career he deserved.

The Jeremy Irons stuff is just fantastic.

Itís easily the best thing on television at the moment.

And yeah, every episode I find myself looking forward to that glorious segue to Jeremy Irons weekly/annual bout of madness.

Last episode was the first ďyou prick! You canít just stop it there!Ē moment that defines great series.

I honestly think itís been a banner year for TV. This is up there with Dark Crystal and Chernobyl as the best.

It is great. If it wasn't for Mr Robot(the latest episode is just sublime, as was the one before it) it'd be my favourite thing on telly right now

For anybody wanting a recap on watchmen that is the source material I'd recommend the Motion Comic.

It was a serialised narrated version of the main comic book broken into the specific chapters - was very good. In particular chapter 4 - Watchmaker - iirc it has great music to the whole thing but chapter 4 was mesmerising.

Not sure where you can get it these days, I suspect you may need to aaaar it. Though it does look like the episode are up on youtube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Yw9Lf0z4N8 - chapter 4 but there are others there
