I have to say last nightís episode was an absolute stunner. Some fantastic parts, and superbly shot. The scenes where the camera panned one way, transited from day to night or vice versa, then panned back was beautifully reminiscent of the comic panel design. This is a real labour of love.

This. This week was Watchmenís San Junipero. It should win awards.

I was going to say I was disappointed at the lack of Jeremyís Iron this week, but it demonstrates that when a show has a tight story planned, there is no time to waste on asides. An Ozymandias section in that episode would have completely broken the immersion.

Tangentially related: I dearly, dearly wish that Game of Thrones didnít squander a whole episode in the final series by just having the main characters get pissed on wine and have uncharacteristic sex.

Just watched the first six episodes over the last two days and I'm impressed. HBO really know how to makes TV. Super glad to see the writer of EP06 is working on a TV adaptation of Station Eleven.

But damn, Watchmen is good. Now I have to re-read the comic.

A god behind the scenes of the latest episode. I didn't even think about the fact that there were long scenes. I guess that says something about how much I got sucked in.

I was still on the fence about the show until episode 6, but my god that was an amazing hour of TV.

One scene in particular will stay with me for some time. When the cops drive off and you see the bodies being dragged behind in colour. So effective and affecting.

@nickthegun a few minutes in I was thinking "I hope this won't last the entire episode".

    I was wrong.

To turn a hangmans costume upside down like that was pretty clever. I never saw that coming at all.

Cherry on the fan cake though eh? I didn't say it was a masterstroke of writing.

That wasn't sarcasm, I really didn't. It was a proper 'of course!' forehead smack.

I thought it was great to contextualise it like that and it adds some colour to him busting up the comedian and whatnot.

It was *really* clever. One of the minutemen is behind the whole thing. What the 'whole thing' is, though....?

Hah sorry, it was great. I really loved the way the supermarket scene played out in the heroes TV show against the actual scene as well. He went out the window trying to escape and the fighting was just scrappy mayhem.

Oh yeah - I totally failed to connect those scenes together. Brilliant.

BUT LINDELHOF IS A SUCKY HACK WRITERWAAAAH!

No, he's a fucking brilliant writer. He's shit when he works with knobs like Ridley Scott. When this season finishes you guys really should go back and watch The Leftovers. There's a very similar (in atmosphere and setting anyway) style of episode called International Assassin in season two, which is just amazing, like nick said about this, one of the best hours of TV ever.

Bound to trigger one or two people that ep. Ruffle a few feathers maybe. This show doesn't seem to give two shits about your politics.

Love it. I hope Lindelhof keeps it short and sweet. Three seasons and done seems to work well for modern TV.

Leftovers was full of great episodes. The Christopher Ecclestone ones were also fucking brilliant.

Yeah brilliant episode. And your godking Lindelhof has said he won't be involved in a potential second season.

Really enjoyed the portayal of Hooded Justice, along with a superb origin story. Only thing is, in the comics, the first Nite Owl says in 'Under the Hood' that HJ was heard to be expressing approval for the actions of the Third Reich in the 1930s, which would seem somewhat out of character.

Are we going to see Dan Dreiberg in this series? We've seen his tech already (goggles and Owlship)

They've made some changes from the comics. I don't think Ozy from the comics, for example, would have made that video message for President Redford.

But mostly I can handwave that stuff, as the show is just doing its own thing.

To be fair, Lindelhof can't take sole credit for ep06.

Here it is. Not sure if it's a throwaway comment though. Coogler is ok, but Black Panther is bobbins.

If you go to Peteypedia (the HBO companion site) that is addressed.
