@Decks Got a link to back up your secret source, cause I don't see much news about, apart from the Godking talking generally about season two plans.
I read it on the super secret Wikipedia article for the show

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watchmen_(TV_series)
Well, I know what Wikipedia is now. Cheers duck.

I dunno, I think wiki perhaps got that added from the
EW story, but wouldn't it be a bit of a shame if he didn't carry on? I mean, we're pretty much all in agreement he's done good work here against the odds. I love the idea of an anthology approach to the universe and understand his suggestion of Coogler, but he's a bit busy I think. I can't think of a writer who could do much better and no doubt there'll be some awards. We'll see.

That's even if season two is greenlit anyway. I'd guess the ratings are a bit shit after the first episode.

I think the reason for Watchmen being good is that it's a passion project that has been kind of building since 2004. Season 2 won't be that. No matter who does it.

    See True Detective.

If there is a sequel, the True Detective approach might be an interesting one. So say season 1 focuses on the aftermath of the squid hoax in Tulsa, season 2 could focus on somewhere else. Moscow? De Nang? The universe is established now, they can do what they want with it.

Yeah, I know what you mean and I hate to bring The Leftovers up again, but the first season adapted the book in its entirety, he managed to write two more seasons which were arguably better than the first, which seemed risky at best. Ok, there's a lot more CGI involved in this production, but taking an anthology approach and leaving a couple of crumb trails for season two... I think it can be done, if they need a two year break between seasons, so be it.

Just rewatched the last two eps.

Do you think the Minutemen programme in the programme is a commentary on Zack Snyder?

Also... Pandas. Rorschach masks. Is there a connection?

The slo-mo fight scene in the Minutemen TV show is definitely, 100% making fun of the Snyder movie.

@BinaryBob101 for sure. I would love to see more Watchmen of it can keep this quality.

I'm pro anthologies. I really wanted stranger things to be one. Still think it would have benefited from leaving the season one cast and setting behind.

Huh. That was weird. The sort of thing that makes me want to rewatch earlier episodes to see if there were any hints.

I kind of thought that Manhattan would be one of the main characters - Angela's grandpa mentioned that shapeshifting was one of his powers, and it seemed like a Chekhov's Gun at the time - but I didn't think it would be her husband. I guess grandpa knew about it.

But seriously what the fucking fuck is going on with Veidt. It's like a completely different show.

Everything Veidt related is in the past (Birthday cakes etc). He has to catch up and drop into the main story really soon.

    2 Episodes left!

I was a bit underwhelmed by that reveal. I imagine there will be some knock-my-socks-off flashback next ep but otherwise... Meh.

Mmm not sure about that twist. I guess it sort of works.

The Veidt is fantastic though, hope it continues to get even fucking weirder.

It'll need a watch through the whole thing again. Thinking hard about it hurts my head a bit!

Coukd Veidt's prison actually be his statue I wonder?

That's what I was thinking, they've focused on the statue a couple of times now.

They focused on the statue because it's a nice little editing flourish between the Veidt scenes and his face on the statue. I don't think it means that he's literally inside the statue.

HE COULD BE THOUGH, THINK ABOUT IT:

WE ARE ALL PRISONERS OF OURSELVES.

    THINK ABOUT IT.

They focused on Angela's eyes before cutting to the eyes (windows) of the building where Veidt was having his trial. MAYBE THAT MEANS HE'S INSIDE ANGELA, OR IS ANGELA.

Maybe the real Veidt is the friends we made along the way.

A fucking shitload of stuff happened in that episode thinking back on it.

Thoroughly confused by the end. If Im being honest I wasnt paying much attention to that character and now I need to rewatch the whole damned thing again. And elephant?

So many questions dangling. I thought Manhattan was over shagging around, but no apparently he was still on Earth, scrounging around for pussy.

But hey, on the positive side, Looking Glass.

Yeah, the editing is fantastic. Stranger things have happened on this show.
