I'd be quite happy with one season, it's been exceptional TV.

That latest episode was an amazing way to tell a nonlinear story. That moment he falls in love with her.

And the pieces slot lovingly into place. The catharsis is almost tangible.

    Although...

So he couldn’t blow up that last guy’s head because that’s how it had to be, but he was very happy to blow the thirteen other guys’ heads up before that?

Brought back good memories, I guess.

He could but isn't willing to change time. Same with the pregnant lady the comedian shot. Could have stopped it but didn't.

Wow. If they manage to stick the landing, this is going to be one of the best seasons of television I've seen in years. Maybe it already is.

I know right, I've gone from thinking this was a terrible idea to this being one of the best pieces of TV I've seen in a long while. I don't know if I want a second series or not and leave this as it is.

Afaik if there is a second series, it's going to be an "anthology" kind of deal. Different story, different characters.

Which would suit me just fine tbh. Being self-contained would only make it better.

Anyway, this one reminded me a lot of Lost. Specifically The Constant.

EDIT: And apparently it did for everyone else too lol. I AM SPECIAL

Would it be in the same timeframe?

Fuck me, that was better than sex.

And very much like The Constant as you say they're all saying.

Wtf is Treu gonna do? When did John pass on his powers and to whom, cause we still could have a literal deus ex machina on our hands next week here.

Another really good episode in a great season.

I don't really get all the rave about ep08 though. It's good, but not a patch on ep06 for me personally. I guess I better read up on why people are raving. I gave up on LOST midway through S02 so I've no idea what the constant was about.

Is it the predeterministic time loop stuff?

@Tonka Episode 8 introduced a lot of elements that have the potential for a stunning finish. I enjoyed 6 more, that was a stunning episode, but in terms of moving the story on this was brilliant, amusing, shocking and demanded that we paid attention. Also there was a huge cock, which everyone loves.

What is it about actors and having massive dongs? Do you need to bring big dick energy to play a part well?

The only thing I can really remember about Altered Carbon is James Purefoys massive unit.

It's about a guy whose consciousness is violently shifting between two different time periods, and he has to find a "constant" (love) in order to stop it.

It sounds cheesy, but somehow isn't. It's similar to this in that it's basically a love story wrapped up in hard sci-fi.

It does indeed sound cheesy, but to me it also sounds more interesting than the Doc Man "I experience everything at once and can't change a thing" take.

It's a personal preference, I don't mean to that I found the latest episode bad or anything. I just don't find predeterministic time loops particularly interesting. It still has time to become a "I've seen all the permutations and this is my preferred one" story though.

I also really hope they won't rush a season 2.

But he doesn't see all the possible permutations as time is one constant that he experiences at once.

The Constant is really a superb standalone that you could probably watch after a quick read-up on the Desmond character that it focuses on. Fuck it's good. Totally floored me in the same way The Visitor did on DS9 years before that.

First two seasons of Lost are still gold.

I finished ep.08 yesterday and can say I've loved every episode. Really brilliant series, and it's set up some really interesting storylines.

So I'm really surprised to read that there is no commitment to series 2 yet. Are they waiting for viewing numbers? I read something saying the per episode budget is really high.
