I hope the last scene is you using a crowbar to kill Gordon Freeman and then throwing his corpse to destroy a giant "Half-Life 3" sign.

I don't particularly care about the game regardless of what platform it's on, but it does seem pretty short-sighted to make it VR-only. It's a bit late to capitalise on the most recent VR fad, unless they're hoping for thousands of people to pick up headsets just for one game.

Steam VR works with any PCVR headset, I doubt this is for a the Index only.

Now, now. VR has been a huge success. Several people on this forum have told me so.

We also don't really know a thing apart from the title. It's perfectly plausible that it will be available in non VR too like Resident Evil 7

Right, my CV1 is happy - my PC not some much - really need to press that 'buy' button on my new system.

Glad picked up that Dell Visor cheap, under £250 and lets me play this if it ever comes out.

I reckon you might be right. I'm also wondering if this will just be a wee thing rather than a full blown game.

Will this be a fully fledged 10-20 hour experience or a shorter title - anyone know?

I think the barrier for entry isnít much higher than the gpu I had to buy for HL2 (amd 9800 i think).

They are calling it a flagship vr title, no idea what that means in terms of length.

I've got that sinking feeling it'll be a couple of hours at best.

I keep seeing 16hrs thrown around in terms of length. No idea if there's any substance to it.

@Fake_Blood if I remember, it didn't need that much though. The cool thing about HL2 at the time was that, unlike Doom 3, it could run decently even on mainstream cards.

At the time I bought it, I had a measly X1300 - an entry level card by any stretch of the imagination - and on 1024x768 it was pretty smooth at low to medium settings.

That said, I also remember it would take upward of one minute to load the title screen... good times. Well, not really.

I would like to think Valve know the significance of bringing back the Half Life series, therefore calling it a "flagship" VR title implies it'll be a fully-fledged experience, longer than 2-3 hours.

Asgard's Wrath, which came out recently, shows VR games can be designed for sustained, 20+ hour experiences. I'd be willing to wager HL:A will be >10 hours assuming it's a story-driven first person shooter affair.
