Getting excited for this now. I played the demo for about 15 minutes but just felt I was spoiling it for myself so I deleted it.
Started replaying RE2 instead, did Claire A and Leon B over the weekend during isolation on Hardcore. Going to do the reverse on Normal mode this week, should be more relaxing!
Makes me wonder how they fucked up RE5 & 6 so badly while playing these. Just scale it all back, keep the RE4 control scheme, stick to the roots. By the end of RE6 I felt like I was playing something that resembled the awful movies more than the original games. Perhaps that's what they were going for.
Anyway, next Friday can't come soon enough. -

Fuck me, it's bloody gorgeous! -

Registered 14 years agoThe demo is only a tiny slice, I don't think it spoils anything. Plus I think they've set things up especially for this demo, which won't happen in the main game.
Like I said earlier, my first play through was just over 9 minutes! You can just about eke out 30 mins if you explore everything.

Registered 5 years agoI don’t know if I’ve got even worse at games in the last year (possible) or if there’s something different about the faster gameplay but this demo feels like it’ll make for a way harder game than 2.
I was regularly blindsided and mauled by zombies I missed and it felt like the run through the streets was a real danger.
Looks gorgeous though. Can’t wait to get stuck in proper. -

To be fair that’s all RE3 ever was to begin with
For me the demo of RE3 kind of feels like a reskinned RE2 with Nemesis replacing Mr X (and worse performance). -

Registered 14 years ago@simpleexplodingmaybe I think it will be harder and more constant threat and action oriented than the previous two games. I hope the dodge mechanic is a bit more forgiving too. -

I played on a two year old basic PS4 and there was no obvious slowdown or long load times -

Registered 16 years agoI like the demo but Nemesis seems more of a twat than Mr X. Hopefully if you decided to shoot him, you get a reward like in the ps1 RE3. In 2 remake Mr X just taking a little rest was annoying if you where trying to do something -

Registered 10 months agoGreat demo (although it was over with quick). I like the dodge mechanic and with the lack of ammo around I think perfecting that is a must.
I kept running from Nemesis, he didn't seem too bad to me (I suspect I will come to regret those words when I play the full game!). -

The demo on the X has a very dodgy framerate, not 60fps at all. I hope they change that decision.

Registered 9 years agoYes, this may have already been fixed but it does look drop dead gorgeous, so hopefully it’s old and they’ve fixed it. Thing is Japanese devs don’t seem fussed about fr, see dark souls, bloodborne, ff15 for evidence of things like poor frame pacing etc going unfixed. -

I don't know it definitely makes a difference. They had the ps4 pro and X at 60fps for Resi 2, why not the same again?

Registered 14 years agoJust played the demo again for 1.5 hours!!
Managed to get 17/20 of the bobble heads, couldn't find any more. Little tip, if you kill all the zombies, and don't pick up the hose, no more zombies spawn or respawn so you can wander the streets as much as you like!
Lovely looking game, loads of detail (that you can take in without all the stress! -

Registered 14 years agoThe demo is a bit cheap in funnelling you towards certain events though - even though there are multiple routes through the city, once you collect that hose they 'lock' doors that you could previously walk through.
Hope they don't do that too much in the main game as it could feel a bit unfair... -

Registered 5 years agoI bought a digital version of RE2: Remake from CDkeys I think. It wasn't dirt cheap but it was cheaper than the xbox store. -

It's pretty expensive on PC too unless you go for CD keys or something.
Am I right that there is no Digital Deluxe version for this game like RE2?
That had guns and costumes thrown in with it. -

They don’t seem to be doing that this time. There is a theme and costume with pre-orders but not as much as last time. I wonder if more costumes and weapons will be paid content when the game ships?

Seems you can preload now on xbox.
