Yeah fair enough. They are good games to just soak up the story and have a wander about with the mood and atmosphere. I'm just a complete masochist.

I've already got it pre loaded on my xbox. The review wasnt exactly damning at all, said he enjoyed it. Just sounds like he's more bothered about how much content is in there compared to 2.

@richarddavies Yes. Pretty positive elsewhere. Looking forward to it now.

@JamboWayOh It's a bit on the short side according to them. 5 1/2 hours.

So was 2. And all the originals. I've replayed these games so much because of their shorter playtimes.

Iíve paid more for less hours before. Iíll probably replay it a few times so Iíll get my moneyís worth.

Consensus seems to be good game, but a minimal overhaul.

I think my first play through of 2 was about 12 hours, whichbwas plenty. Then going through with Claire, more than enough and gone back multiple times.

Skillup was a bit down on it too. I usually trust his reviews. Said it should have been dlc rather than a full priced game.

Am I the only one not bothered about length? I have a back catalogue of unplayed games across multiple systems hovering around about the 50 game mark. There are numerous upcoming and recent games Iím dying to play, like FF7 remake, and Doom Eternal... I have two kids and am (still) working... Iíd actually rather like more shorter games.

The design choices do sound a bit disappointing based on the reviews though.

Iím not too bothered, but the beauty of RE2 remake was the replayability with A&B scenarios across both characters. There wasnít a lot of difference but it did mix it up.
There wonít be the same here but I remember enjoying RE3 back in the day and Iím sure Iíll get stuck in here. The first 2 or 3 play throughs should be in double figures. Thatís fine

The original Re3 was always very short compared to 2. It's not surprising. 2 was a huge 2 disc game with 4 campaigns.

3 was always the shortest off all the Resi games because it has 1 character which limits replayability.

Not unless it's a 20 quid walking simulator then it's an ESSENTIAL. I don't really use game length to judge a game's quality these days, games that go on too long just suck the joy out for me, Alien Isolation for example.

I'd have played isolation again if it was more RE2 length.

Length is fine by me, I think I paid 15.99 for RE2 on PSN, this will be similar within a year.

I was kinda disappointed in Resident Evil 2ís length as i expected something like the PS1 scenario.

Loved Resi3 as a kid and i thought the demo was great, hope thdy included 🐛 .

No problem with a shorter game here either probably prefer that to any overlong artificially extended game, especially with ff7 remake on the horizon. I tend to play at a more leisurely pace exploring and absorbing games atmosphere, so can probably add few hours on. Would maybe be more pissed if i'd paid £50+ for digital......

I'm all for short games but 5 hours and no B playthrough or 2nd character is pretty dramatically less than last year's game.

I suppose it has Resident Evil Resistance included. I doubt I will play that though, not really a fan on online shooty bang bang stuff. Would have preferred a longer RE3 campaign instead.

Not sure what they can do though without dramatically altering the original game. I'm willing to bet it will have the odd new area, like the orphanage in RE2 remake. They could have added a new character I suppose, but that wouldn't be very faithful to the original. Perhaps they could have added a B campaign, where things are in different places etc. But even that was fairly superficial in 2 remake, it was much better implemented in the PSX version.

I really hope they do RE:CV next. That could be absolutely amazing in this engine. I think they'll probably do RE8 though. Which is also good.

I just read a different review that said it took 12 hours. Perhaps Wesley was playing it on an easier difficulty. Definitely going to start it on Hardcore mode if it's short.

Worrying, some of the review say that lots of stuff has been taken out and there aren't many puzzles. Apparently it goes in the direction of Resi 4-6 a fair bit.

    Not sounding great :/

Yeah, Skill Up said it was much more action than survival horror. Think I'll pass.

Iím still locked in but I canít say Iím not a little disappointed itís a bit barebones, rather than adding elements and areas, theyíve stripped some bits. Itís a small blessing with ff7 around the corner (possibly even sooner than release) and Iím not one for replaying a lot (still to play the flip reverse of last years REmake). It is the least played/enjoyed game of one of my favourite franchises, with my fav character.
I had hoped for a similar mix of puzzles to last years, but itís resi so Iím still eagerly awaiting the post.

Still looking forward to it, does sound bit short but I'll reserve judgement until I've played it. I'm more bothered to hear that there's a lack of puzzles and you don't spend much time on the streets.
