Totally agree. I know there's some rock punching silliness in there but I really enjoy the journey it takes you on and it's extremely replayable.|
I've done all the achievements/trophies on PS3 and Xbox 360 and I get the sneaking suspicion I may do the same on PS4 now I've started it.
Resident Evil 3 (2020) • Page 27
I think the early part of 5 is tripe but once you start getting into the item upgrading it becomes decent enough.
If you want a co-op partner I'm down. I only got as far as like Chapter 3.
Basically playing it to get to the DLC which i never did.
Yeah if you fancy doing some co-op sometime hit me up, I'm Solid-SCB- on PSN.
Will be infinitely less frustrating than the moron who joined my game the other day who had a load of endgame weapons and was hoarding all the ammo pickups yet I still had to basically carry through 2 chapters and constantly save with my default pistol and shotgun on Normal. Then had the audacity to message me and ask why I'd ended the game.
Ah I'm on PC pal, nay bother.
I might start playing with randoms too just for the craic. Sounds like banter.
Ah, no worries.
Randoms are very hit and miss. Been a few off there I've ended up playing quite a bit of other stuff with though.

I'm replaying 5 currently with my brother for the fifth or sixth time...not sure, but still rate it as one of the best co-op games I've ever played. Superb game.
Completed it with 4 saves and 7 minutes under goal time. Iíd finally cracked S rank.
No. Apparently Iíd been looking at the Assisted goal times so I was actually 23 minutes late for S on Standard. Gutted.
Anyway, Iíve now got the infinite pistol, lockpick, bolt cutters, 2 assault coins, the training manual and all the storage slots. Absolutely flying through it now. That time should fall on this attempt.
Assault coins and infinite pistol take care of a lot of business.

Doesn't using the items stop you getting an S rank though?
I'm pretty sure they did in 2.
These are the conditions apparently
If I remember correctly you couldnít use infinite weapons for S+ ranks in RE2 but S was fine
I think Iím quite near the end of my first play through now, it seems end gamey anyway
Iíve not really enjoyed it that much compared to RE2 remake
Itís ok but thereís something missing, a change of pace occasionally where you can explore would be good, itís just fight after fight with a lot of insta death
Not a proper s rank if you're using infinite ammo.
Should be ashamed of yourselves.
Who made you Judge Judy and Executioner
Just completed it for the first time. Not sure if this one adjusts the difficulty but the end bit was tough
I kept reloading my save files if I died so the game thinks Iíve not died once, might have effected the difficulty too much
Iíd hoarded lots of ammo and had to use nearly every bit of it at the end, took flipping ages

The final bosses on Nightmare and Inferno do not seem great. Hard to imagine they play tested it and thought that was ok because theres a line between difficult and bullshit. Its putting me off getting an S rank on those difficulties because it's so bad.
It's absolutely horrific on nightmare when you first do it. I think you have to use the STARS manual and probably the defence coins. It's manageable after that.
I didn't have a problem on inferno because i had it down after nightmare. Probably took me 2 hours on nightmare though first time.
It's like a dark souls boss. You have to learn the patterns of his attack and maximise your offence. There's also some RNG to it, with squiring acid blood going everywhere at times.
Probably the hardest boss I've encountered in any Resi game ever.
Iíve completed this 5 times now, itís super addictive playing through using different strategies
Managed to get an S rank earlier and now have an infinite assault rifle so will probably go through it a bunch more times 😃
Finally nailed the S rank tonight as well on my 6th attempt. I was absolutely going for it from the start and still only made it with 5 minutes to spare. Iíve now basically got most things unlocked barring the infinite rocket launcher. Did some reloading to check off a few of the objectives. Time for an attempt at hardcore I suppose.
That raiden gun is great fun popping heads on zombies but super risky as well.
Cleared a hardcore run and picked up all of the Charlie dolls. Still missing 2 notes and that's like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Have started a nightmare mode run. My gosh those zombie boys are bitey
Did Hardcore S rank yesterday and have completed all the Ďrecordsí apart from the additional difficulties
Not sure if Iím going to give them a go, donít fancy the boss fights. They were easy on Hardcore with the coins but Iíve heard bad things about Nightmare
Did Nightmare using the rocket launcher, took exactly 1 hr 3 minutes
Not sure it would have been as much fun with a handgun
Nighmare and Inferno are the true hardcore modes of this game. Hardcore itself is nothing really, not compared to what it was in RE2.
@Steve-Perry Yeah I couldn't be arsed doing Nightmare without the serious weaponry, the only bit I died on was the final final boss which took me 5 attempts
Fair play to you though, you've got serious chops doing those modes with ordinary weapons
It's not that difficult really. You just have to know the enemy layouts and prepare accordingly. You can't just run around like a headless chicken, or you'll be eaten like one.
I'd say its roughly the same as the old resi games and getting the higher ranks on those.
How did you find the final boss? I imagine even with a rocket launcher it's tough? Took me 2 hours first time on nightmare mode just to kill him alone.
I think I fluked it really. Did it on the 5th attempt once I started dodging, so it only took about 10 minutes total
I say fluked it as at one point I sort of did a perfect double dodge by accident which helped massively in terms of lining up shots. Never had to bother with dodge on Hardcore but it seemed vital on Nightmare
I suppose with the rocket you are going to be able to hit a few of his ball sacks at one. Still, fair play, because he's incredibly difficult.
Got the S rank on Inferno just now. Last boss was a real pain in the backside so I think I did fluke it to some extent on Nightmare. Took me nearly 20 attempts, think I made a mistake not picking up any health as any time I tried to pick up the first aid sprays I got squashed
Seemed a bit cheap compared to other difficulties too, one time it came back off the floor almost immediately when I was still in the animation to push the power plug back, picked me up and crushed me. Another time I got all three plugs in and I couldn't get the prompt to pick the rail gun back up
Did it in less than one hour though which was the quickest run through for me yet
Trying to beat the final boss on Nightmare. Thatís some bullshit eh?!
To this point you can sort of get away with not being very good at the dodge. But now - nope
