Can see them doing cv next really, was essentially the next mainline game really.
Nemesis was intended as a spin off with CV being RE3 but Sony had an exclusivity deal for three numbered main series titles.

Yeah, remember there being some convoluted stuff then cv was on Dreamcast with cv:x eventually being on ps2?

To be fair any sense of narrative coherence in the main sequence ends in Nemesis anyway.

4, 5, 6 and 0 are all slightly too ridiculous in one way or another.

7 I can buy as a sequel to the Racoon City arc though. Especially after the REmakes of 1, 2 and now 3 seem to tie things together quite well tonally.

2 and 3 are definitely my favourites, spanning the same time frame from different characters perspectives. Felt like it had proper closure as well, with how 3 ends.

Really can't wait for the Re:make of 3. 2 was a near perfect version (only let down slightly because the cross over story differences weren't as pronounced as the original) and it looks like 3 is on track to continue that trend.

I might be forgiving of CV if its given a similar treatment somewhere down the line.

3 was always the outlier for me in the main series. It went so hard into the combat (which wasnít the best part of any of them really). The remake of 2 also shifted a little in a similar direction so it makes sense this one is coming.
It should fit nicely with how 2 was and will be better for it this time I think.

Was there a proper Ďdodgeí button on this? Itís ringing a faint bell for me. Looking at some videos of the original, Nemesis is going to be a right bastard to avoid...

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I have a vague memory that it was R1. The same button that readies your gun. So it was always touch and go whether you would dodge or attempt to lift your weapon.

I know RE3 was even more action orientated than 2 but I hope they retain more of the creepy atmosphere and horror that Remake 2 bought. You knew roughly what was coming but it still put me on edge. Particularly in the first half of the game.

I think it'll be closer in tone to the new RE2 to what the original 3 was to the original 2.

The police station and new environment is just too perfectly dark and moody for it.

They just need to get the Nemesis and its aggressiveness right. I felt it could get a bit much in 2 with how often tyrant was after you and Nemesis is a step up if anything in terms of speed and determination.

Not sure I'd like it if you spend the whole game just constantly running in circles trying to lose it.

@richarddavies itís more about knowing the game and which route to take when it appears; as running away is pretty much always the best option. Getting sucked into a fight with it just burns precious ammo and itís easy to get deviated into the wrong area and get cornered etc.
Nemesis is definitely a step up from the RE2 tyrant, he can sprint and is generally a lot more aggressive. Theyíll need to balance him for sure.

We so need a resident evil 3 demo. And not a one shot 30 minute thing they did last time.

The game director said in some video I saw today they are focusing on that original re3 action. Looks good though from the videos released so far. I really enjoyed the first run through of the re2 remake. Nemesis might get a bit annoying though on higher difficulty.

It was more actiony, but there was still quite a few puzzles to open up the city.

Also it was designed with a lot of rat runs, loops and cut throughs so you could avoid him.

The key thing to do was to always keep moving.

It's a bit meh - the "stars" can be heard in the new re2 demo, which has no time limit.

The PS4 version of the full game was updated with a trophy about Jill's letter.

Apparently, only the PS4 game has the Jill letter (for the moment) and it can be found https://www.relyonhorror.com/in-depth/guides/guide-where-to-find-jills-letter-in-remake-2/ there's spoilers.

I replay it regularly, as you can do the whole thing in 5 hours, it's become weirdly comforting.

I'll keep an eye out for Jill's letter in my next play through. I presume it'll be on her desk in the STARS room?

No shame in using assisted if you're just after exploring and feeling the vibe and story.

(I'm a total assisted player for replays now)

Yep! I just play for the atmosphere. I always have so much ammo and health by the end I don't know what to do with it.

I finish the 1st story (usually Claire) with around 8 saves, though reckon I could do it in less or none if I was braver and had time.

Leon first for me. I know it's supposedly noncanonical but it feels more natural that the rookie would do general exploration and Redfield's sister gets the bigger risk.

Playing scenario B with Leon, question, will Birkin kill Mr X like he did with Claire's A scenario? I'm thinking he won't and X will be the big blob boss at the back of the train like the OG RE2.

I don't think you need to put spoilers for a game that is almost a year old. Also no your theory is incorrect. It's the same boss.
