Yes, March 2012, so only two years after ME2. Which probably explains a few things, that's ridiculous for a game of such scope and expectation.

    - Mass Effect 2 & 3
    - The Last of Us
    - Uncharted 4 A Thief's End
    - Until Dawn
    - Titanfall 2
    - Destiny 1 & 2
    - The Witcher 3
    - Dead Cells
    - Mario Odyssey
    - Breath Of The Wild

There are a lot of decent games more than I can remember in that decade. Have to say The Last of Us was my overall favourite. Everything about that game was flawlessly brilliant.

    Nobody at all!

My list doesn't mean much because there are huge gaps in the games I've played (e.g haven't played a Nintendo Game in decades), but my personal list is:

    Last of Us
    Borderlands 2
    Horizon 4
    Skyrim
    Witcher 3
    Hotline Miami
    Dead Nation

Seeing what other users covet as exceptional gaming experiences over the last 10 years is interesting because it's good to know other games that are held in high esteem. The fact it's games of the decade prompts users to have a good think and list the defining experiences that are still playable on today's hardware with minimal fuss. There may be games I've never heard of and never played. This way I might be pushed to try something I hadn't considered and find I really enjoy it. Its the main reason lists and topics like this exist.

I would have thought it obvious but perhaps it isn't.

Having to choose the inferior Dark Souls over the original and considerably more atmospheric Demon's Souls... Pah! I refuse.

@Cappy There's still time for an announcement and immediate release of a remaster.

    Well, I can hope.

To be fair, that's exactly the same amount of dev time ME2 had (ME1 releasing in Nov 07, and ME2 in Jan 10).

Yeah but ME2 didn't even try to continue this epic Reaper/galactic war/whatever thing. The worse for ME3 which basically had to pick up where ME1 left and cram everything in a single game.

Undertale. I've played more fun and immervise games. But in terms of sincerity, humour and music it'll always have a special place.

Looking back I’ve probably not played as many games as I did in my younger years. The ones I’ve enjoyed unequivocally are

    Dark Souls
    Bloodborne
    Persona 4 Golden
    Resident Evil 7
    Resident Evil 2 Remake

    GTAV
    Red Dead Redemption 2
    Shadow of Mordor
    Dirt Rally 1 & 2
    Mortal Kombat X
    Halo 4 & 5

Last of Us is the best game this decade. No question for me.

And I have a couple favourites that I will mention because they are generally overlooked

    Just Cause 2
    Home Front Revolution

Both were bug-riddled non-optimised pieces of shit upon launch, but playing post patches and on the Xbox X, they are great games.

If I had to narrow it down to 3 instead of listing every good game, I'd say breath of the wild, dark souls and the last of us.

@quadfather Replace Dark Souls with The Witcher 3 and that's my top 3. I missed the boat on Dark Souls with Bloodborne my first From Soft game. If I'd played DS when it first came out I imagine It would have been in my top 3 but it didn't make as big an impression after Bloodborne.
