Titanfall 2 is a great game. My shooter of this generation.

It is also the PS4 game I miss most since I went Switch only.

Amazed anyone would have destiny on there. It's actually my most played game of the decade but that's only because it's crack and also friends play it because it's crack. It's a good fun game no doubt, hence my many hours on it but compared to most of the games I and everyone else have been listing it's dog shit.

It's not shit, it has great moments and the raids are brilliant experiences with a good group. Unfortunately too much of it's gameplay is grind, it's addictive but take one step back and it's clearly not time well spent. It's why I'm reluctant to put it on my list but as it's my most played game it needs a mention.

Interesting (but not surprising) that we've not had one mention so far of Fortnite, PUBG, DotA2, League of Legends or any of the other mega-mass-market games that have broken through.

I'm slightly more surprised that nobody has mentioned Overwatch. Of all of the "OMG esports" games, it feels like the one with the largest demographic cross-over with EG forumites.

I never played 2 but yeah 1 was incredible.

No idea how anyone could think horizon could be considered!!!! Maybe one of the worst suggestions today. Was good fun but meh.

    Nier Automata
    Forza Horizon
    Dirt Rally
    Hitman
    Doom
    GTA V
    Mass Effect 2

Also Ark in early access on Xbox, terrible performance but I played it with a girl I lived with that died earlier this year so fuck it that's my game of the decade.

@KD Hmm... good call on Nier: Automata. Forgot about that when I typed out my list this morning, but that was certainly one of the games that stayed with me long after I finished it. It had some flaws, but they were easy to overlook given the big picture (and oh my word that soundtrack).

Thinking about it, Minecraft is probably worth a shout.

Oh, the front page reminded me about Clash Royale. Even if I'm in a constant state of resenting it.
  • Deleted user 25 November 2019 14:23:11
Yeah, Minecraft is probably the game that's had the biggest impact on gaming this decade.

I'd have to have Minecraft (full release and some other versions are definitely this decade). I've spent way too many joyful hours messing about in that on so many different systems not to have Minecraft on my list.

Would have FTL too - I don't play that as much myself nowadays, but I still regularly watch streams to watch people desperately hold things together under heavy fire :p

@Rogueywon I have actually been thinking about this since my first post, and I would put Overwatch in my list. If I could be arsed to make a list, of course, which so far I haven't done. So maybe I should. In no particular order, other than the order in which they fell out of my head:

    Halo 5
    Celeste
    Skyrim
Dragon Age Origins (let me have this, Grax)
The Witcher 3 (I'm tempted to put 2 as well, tbh)
Mass Effect 2 (1 is better IMO, but too old)
    Steins;Gate
NieR (the first one, not Automata)
    Overwatch
Final Fantasy XIV (2.0 and on)
    Gears of War 3
    Blazblue Centralfiction
    Dishonoured 2
Killer Instinct 2013 (rekindled my interest in FGs)
    The Last of Us
    Gravity Rush
    Bayonetta
Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone (don't judge me)
    Life is Strange

I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton here, and I think I'd be adding Xenoblade Chronicles if I ever finished it; I was playing it via Dolphin and performance started to get really bad on my laptop. I have a new PC now, but I'm going to wait for the remaster.

@Ror Hey, I like the Hatsune Miku games. Not "game of the decade" levels of like, but they're good fun.

@Rogueywon That one in particular makes my list because of the breadth of its song catalogue (and obviously because I think it's a lot of fun).

I'm going to have to say Astrobot. VR has become (almost) mainstream in the last decade and Astrobot is by far the best VR game I've ever played. Gave me the same feeling of magic I had playing video games when I was 10 and everything seemed new and wonderful.

Also BOTW, GTA5 and Portal 2

I considered Astro Bot, but I, err, still haven't finished it. It is very good though!

I saw DX Human Revolution and Splatoon mentioned upthread, and I very nearly added those, too. I don't think they quite make the list for me, but again - very good.
