All I care about is can I watch live TV on it, in a small corner box, while giving voice commands and playing halo 8?

Phil Spencer's profile picture on Twitter was changed to the CPU of the next Xbox.

    It's pretty huge

FFS, now we all have to go back to wondering whether it'll have an ethernet port or not.

Got a UHD TV yesterday... between this and Game Pass until 2022, I suppose I'm now morally obligated to get the higher-end Xbox Series X when it comes out.

It's going to be expensive, so they are either going to subsidise it, or throw in 1 or 2 years of gamepass.

2nd time you’ve said this but I’m assuming that you’re just speculating?

No his mum shagged Phil Spencer's personal sweater maker so he can get all the gossip.

    Too far-fetched to believe.

If you'd have said Phil's t-shirt printer I'd have been all in.

Just a guess of course, there were already a couple signs that they are totally going for performance this time. A large processor is harder to make, and needs better cooling for which you need a larger box. I can't see this launching for $399, and throwing in a year of gamepass (which is worth something like $100) might make more sense than selling these at a loss.

I think $600. But I also think they would be mad not to also launch the cheaper sku, or at least say when it is coming. Unless they have great Intel about how the X sold, stickiness of game pass, and great focus groups or something.

How much would you’d be prepared to pay for this ‘beast’?

£600 for the top spec version as no doubt there'll be two versions. If I gonna do next gen I might as well go full into it, that first gen xbox one was and is terrible when you compare it to the capability of the ps4.

Well, I have a PC, so it can do one if all the games work that they put on Ultimate Pass

I think I would happily pay in proportion to the performance. If it was weak sauce I wouldnt pay 400 quid, but if it is twice the graphical capability of the One X, I could see myself pay something like 50% more than the One X launch price after 3 years. (I paid the $500 launch price). Depends on some other factors like CPU, HD etc, but from the sound of it suggests further improvements.

I have bought much more expensive gaming PC hardware in the past, and I still played more on my xbox. I mean, just upgrading my gpu for the equivalent current version would be like 400 quid. Why should I be annoyed if the whole xbox system is 600 quid or even more?

The thing I am still pissed about is the lack of VR support. If the new xbox really is that powerful in terms of gpu, cpu, and memory, WHY FRIGGING NOT? It's basically a windows PC. And imagine the potential purpose made VR provisions Microsoft could have come up with.

Have they said no VR support? I hadn't see anything that ruled it out.

I would think they will do something but not their own headsets. I would expect a partnership with Valve (who would love to shift more indexes) or compatibility with Windows Mixed Reality if they do add VR in to the mix.

    They really should.

They have said there is no demand for it so not looking into it at the moment. PS4 sales are over 100 million, PSVR just hit 5 million, with what went down with Kinect I guess they are a little more cautious these days

Yeah, I should've said, huge compared to the CPU of the Xbox One X. Anyway, DF has made a video about it.
