Hilariously, or maddeningly, I'm quite keen on getting the new one. Despite barely being arsed to play any games just now.

Not finished gears 5 yet, or borderlands 3 or the outer wilds, despite the fact I'd usually have battered through them. I'm really not sure why this is the case.

Maybe apex legends burnt me out last year...

The curse of new shiny is really strong isn't it?

For the masses, yeah. Not so much for me. I want reasons to jump in day 1.

    Ed: that was at Matt.

I'm also intrigued about how big this ssd is going to be in the console. If its integral to what makes the console an upgrade into next gen it may annoy a few peeps if your having to download and delete games all the time (well I will with the shit download speeds we have at home)

@Derblington sure, but it seemed like you were making general comments about likely views of xbsx vs ps5.

I've stuck w xbox and will be there at launch. I was well pleased with my project scorpio edition for the fairly simple resolution bump and performance increase.

This should have that again and some more. I dont have time to buy / play that many new games, so a boost to my regular MP games is sweet, plus a trickle of proper next gen.

Just still bummed about lack of VR, especially given the power of this thing. My 1070 cant compete.

@richarddavies I reckon 1TB, which isnt great for having loads of games installed. What is that - 7 blockbuster games?

Yeah if your lucky. You can easily get 100gb + games now and I assume that will only get worse with the next gen. You aren't going to fit much on your shiny new cuboid.

I'd like it if they could at least add compatibility for existing headsets. Maybe release a break-out box I can plug my Rift S's displayport into. or something.

Itís not so much XB vs PS5, purely because we donít know anything about the latter. Iím just a bit disappointed by MS lack of pushing the next gen. - I want the big effort.

But I realize itís not their plan to bump everyone over quickly or have all the best exclusives, they want a platform presence in your living room that controls your entertainment. Itís just counter to my personal interests in a gaming console.

But it also means they canít make the fast loading a necessity for new forms of gameplay because the old xbone has 5000 rpm mechanical drive.
But the games are separate SKUs so itís not like the game HAS to have load screens on Series X just because it does on One X

I agree with what youíre saying though, they are trying to offer all this compatibility possibly at the expense of utilising the new hardware properly
Truthfully I think that xbone s is going to be streaming these new games from xcloud.
And streamed 1080p60 might actually have lower latency than some 800p30 port. And if the streamed version has those very short loading times it might be acceptable.

Machine sounds good, powerful and quiet.
Hopefully the UI will be less shit and the exclusives will actually be interesting and I might get one.
Could put it in my soon to be abandoned gaming pc space :)

I'm not quite sold on the Series X. Granted, I might have been a PS fanboy in the distant past (which I'm not very proud of btw) but I don't see any must-have games on the system that can't be played anywhere else.

All the power in the world is useless if the games aren't up to scratch. There's nothing on Xbox that isn't at least equalled on other systems.

If you don't have a decent gaming PC then it should be a decent value alternative.

I have a decent gaming PC, but still find a console way more convenient... so the PC is for VR.

PCs can do one, I cba with all that guff now, especially with consoles being superior for HDR which is fcking awesome.

Except owning a pc has never been easier and it has the same hdr implementation as consoles. It also has solid 60fps 4k gameplay if you have the hardware good enough, hell it even has solid 1080p 60fps gameplay which the consoles can barely manage.

PC has definitely become more appealing since MS essentially made it their most powerful Xbox. Game pass, Steam, the best VR, running through a TV, played with a pad and M/KB when required.

Sat next to a PS5 and Iím sorted for everything.

What a beast. Will be surprised if it is not delayed tho! From CV.

And with the power it is displaying, it would be bloomin perfect for VR. I am a broken record on this lol.

I can feel the power from here.

Think I've talked myself out of day one.

    But I am weak.

That graphic proves that Crackdown 4 will be superior to God of War 2.

Standard bro. And green LEDs are faster than blue too because my mate says the blue ones have to be super cooled to achieve that colour and the texels canít vibrate quick enough.

    Down to 250 in GAME.

Presume switching from Launch day to X, account wise, is fairly simple?

Does game sharing complicate matters at all?

No, it's all fairly simple just set it as your home console to resume game sharing.

I must say, the console looks awesome.

I still won't buy one though. After being pretty much 100% Xbox for my gaming since the 360, I switched to PC last year. Not looking back really.

Interested in where the pricing goes on this, it does look expensive.
