@Psychotext Yeah that sounds pretty good I'd say. When I eventually bought the T300 about 4 years ago, the G29 (PS4 equivalent) was about £180 I think.

    Thanks.

Edit - I've ordered that. Hopefully it means I can stop watching this goddamn stock site now!

Anybody here using the Arctis 9X with their new Xbox? I've got a weird issue where when I turn the headphones off and shut down console, the headphones restart the console and then no controllers can connect. No matter what you do. In the end the only way to remedy it is with a hard reset. I've found other people online with same issue and sent in ticket to customer support at Steelseries. I just wondered if anybody else had the issue? Or if anybody has the headset and is having no issues with the Series X. Ta.

There are also some games that aren't officially SX optimized, but really run a lot better. Blair Witch for example is 30fps on Xbox One/X, but goes up (and locks) to 60fps on Series S/X.

I haven't tested the patch on the original Xbox One but I know Borderlands 3 on the Series X is no longer a complete shit show in splitscreen any more. The game still crashes now and then though, in fact it's probably the least reliable console release I've ever played...

Oh. Oh dear. Apparently I've installed 42 games on me Series X. I know it's not really launch games, but in my mind this is the most ridiculous launch haul for a new console I've ever had. They're not new games, but they're mostly new to me!

Dipping in and out of loads of them, but No Man's Sky and SW Fallen Order have gotten the most love. WD Legion would be up there but I parked it due to the progression bug, and Gears Tactics because I don't seem to be in a turn based mood right now. Tetris Effect for the wind down at the end of a day - so zen, despite the stress.

First console I've ever let stay in the "suspend" state as well. It fires up again more quickly than my TV can turn on (about 2 seconds) and is immediately usable.

Might dive on for a few to make some more progress in The Touryst. :)

@Britesparc Oh that is weird, yes. Had your previous stint completely expired before you added the 12 months of Gold? I presume so, or the gold would have been added as 4 months extra GPU or whatever the ratio is.

I was, based on 6 month old anecdotes, half expecting the upgrade to work, but for it to charge me £10.99 rather than £1. But like I say, it worked for £1 for me today. Maybe I was just lucky.
So I've tried to access the Game Pass £1 offer again off the back of this message. And whether it's online or through the dash, I can see a big introductory "join for £1" or whatever. When I click on it, I get a warning about how it'll convert my remaining Gold sub into GPU, etc, and then it takes me through to payment, and the price jumps to £10.99.

Now, I figured this was becuase I got a £1 offer last year, but if other people had the offer and they can rejoin for £1 (even if it's just £1 for a month), then why can't I?

And what irritates me more is, if I CAN'T get my first month for £1, why do MS keep showing me these flippin' ads?!

I know this is, like, the least important issue in the world, but it's one of those niggly things where I just want to know if I'm mad or doing something wrong!

Watch Dogs Legion is 35% off already. That is ridiculous. It was only released like 3 weeks ago.

I tried Star Wars Squadrons with the free trial, but it looks pretty soft on my S. I guess the 1440p patch hasn't been released yet?

Iíve just bought SW Squadrons on Series X, digital, but not seeing any kind of graphics toggles for performance/fidelity that are supposed to be on the update.

Anyone else got this and can see the version number?

Isnít the update a separate download?

Some Series X enhanced games actually have the graphical toggles removed - Forza Horizon for example. It's because it basically combines the fidelity and performance modes anyway. Perhaps it's a similar situation with Squadrons?

Squadrons is not Series SX optimized. It's supposed to be a BC update. That's why the PS5 is not getting 120fps support.

It doesn't look like 1440p on the S either, so I guess the update just isn't out yet.

@markypants This happened the first time I connected them. I only bought them this week. I shut the console down but it came back on and my controller wouldn't connect like yourself.

I think I'd been messing with the power switch, I didn't know how to properly turn it off at the time and I assumed it had turned the Xbox on again as it's a wireless connection to the Xbox and it would switch it on like a controller.

    It's never happened since.

I think you might be right bud. Will give a wait til it is, although playing through the first couple of missions itís pretty sweet looking in HDR anyways.

With the sales on the store today, I plumped for Borderlands 3 and switched between performance and resolution modes.

I thought diminishing returns would mean 120fps mode is something I wouldnít consider but there really is a noticeable difference.

Iím not sure if the resolution drop to 1080p is worth it, there are certainly more noticeable jaggies, but being able to quickly switch between both modes and compare is great.

Anyone else gave these two modes a go and have a preference?

Posted in the PS5 thread yesterday about the Dualsense/Series X pad comparisons.

The Dualsense is generally excellent, especially the haptics. They feel like a natural evolution of rumble and it works really well. The adaptive triggers are less impressive imo, they feel a little janky, almost as if the triggers are sticking.

I tried Dirt 5 for the first time on the Series X yesterday and I was very impressed by the rumble in the Series X pad - feeling the acceleration of the car in the right trigger and the pump of the breaks on the left is very immersive, absolutely loved it.

As impressive as the Dualsense is, itís not a million miles ahead of the Xbox pad IMO.....itís Ďinnovation vs tried and testedí and, sometimes, the old ways are the best.

The series s/x version of observer system redux is really ropey, finished it last night and was quite disappointed with frame rate and pop in of shadows and effects. I hope they fix it, as the game is excellent and really enjoyed the original version. But yeah, probably best to avoid it until it's patched properly.
