Went live today. Can't wait to see what new titles get added. Apparently there will be additions every couple of weeks.

I'm kinda hoping it could be added to 360 games too, but that sounds more difficult.

Really? I thought they say it's being done through D3D so could be done for older titles.

I think older titles were more likely to tie their game logic to the framerate. Besides, I think they still need to ask for permission, which gets harder if a developer or publisher may have gone bust in the meantime.

We could see a few though. I could certainly go for some 60fps Alice. Would give me an excuse to play it again.

Iím not sure this the case for what they are doing here. The DF vid talks about it being an API change with no changes to the game code or ini file at all so potentially bypassing these issues. Happy to be corrected on this though.

They also dropped a little nugget of good news towards the end, auto HDR will be a per game toggle in a future update which is fantastic news.

@Cpl.Hicks they already said in the past it could be problematic for some games. A typical example is Dark Souls, which gets wonky if you try to run it at 60fps on PC. So they still need to do it on a per-title basis, and in some cases they will need to make small adjustments to the game in case things go wrong.

I suppose they will favor games that don't need it, though.

Dark souls wasnt wonky as 60 FPS on pc from what I remember. Dsfix sorted that right out.

I think Dsfix might have sorted the thing eventually, but for years the Prepare to Die edition was wonky at 60fps on PC. It only became 100% fine at 60fps with the release of the Remaster.

From carried on linking game logic to framerate up to Bloodborne. Even Dark Souls 2 had some issues on PC at 60fps, despite it being officially supported (the durability bug being the biggest manifestation). The link's been a favoured shortcut of Japanese developers for a long time and even now a handful still do it, albeit they generally link at 60fps these days.

I was almost hyped about the Ninja Gaiden Collection, then noticed it's the Sigma games, and also stuck to PS4/X1.

Might as well just play the BC versions then, at least they will be above 1080p and with all the blood I need in my life.

Is there a way to tell if a game has had a recent update when you boot up the console from rest mode?

I go to the "queue" section of My Games and Apps. There is a list at the top of the most recently updated games.

Dont you press the hamburger button (3 lines) with the game selected and there's an option to see updates, version, info etc.?

Is anyone having an issue connecting to Apex Legends since the new season has dropped? Me and a mate both can't connect to the server and keep returning to the title screen no matter how many times you try. I've tried hard reset etc and also uninstalling the game plus any save data on the system. My son has no trouble connecting on his Series S.
This is a bug according to a couple of gaming sites. Still yet to be fixed after 2 weeks, apparently it is an issue with people's accounts and not the game itself across all platforms

Sniper elite 4 is an absolute joy to play at 60fps. Those xray kills are ❤️. Also the loading times are seconds if that.

Going to try it this evening, have often seen Sniper Elite talked about as a fun sort of B game.

    @mikew1985

Sniper Elite games are fab - and 60fps just makes it fabber.

One of THE best games to replay certain sections of at your will..plus, with the DLC you can bump off Hitler in any number of creative ways.

EDIT: Tried Watch Dogs 2 earlier and, whilst the 60fps is yummy, the 900p image shimmering is not so much. Must've been more masked in 30fps. Far Cry 4 looks nice though.

EDIT 2: My fave level in Sniper Elite 4 is the Viaduct one - proper, epic long-range shots. Killing Nazis is always so satisfying.

Don't tempt me, played and loved it on ps4, and would almost be tempted to double-dip.

Although i guess a new one must be in well along the pipeline by now.

Watchdogs 2 is really ugly .. it got a PS4 Pro patch which bugged me! Same with Deus Ex Mankind Divided .. PS4 Pro patch not One X. Damn you Square / Ubi

    Just spotted this.

    That doesn't help, no.

    But thanks! 😃

So is there going to an OS update soon? Seems like ages since the last one.
