Honestly i'm not sure its my router, its a good 5ghz router, and i've tried the xbox on wifi and powerline, same thing. When the screen is static its pin perfect, when you move fast it artifacts. Pretty sure its the implementation as moonlight, geforcenow, steam streaming is much better right now.

Same here with the Series X. I have a 5ghz router. Compared to the PlayStation equivalent (working with a PS4 Pro), the Xbox app feels as responsive, if not slightly more, but is way more pixelated in motion.

Decided to have a bash at Fallout 4 today on Series X, and Iím playing away thinking that it very much looked like 30fps to my eyes.
Do I need to turn on FPS boost or something?

    @Wayne yes.

As it drops the resolution to hit 60fps you have to change it yourself. Same goes for Fallout 76.

Is that a trick question?! Yes, to boost the FPS you do need to turn on FPS boost. Same goes for all the titles supporting FPS boost. Fallout 4 didn't get a series X patch.

@richardiox FPS boost is turned on automatically for everything other than Fallout 4 and Fallout 76.

As a heads up, there's a 500 points reward in the app for clicking two links related to FIFA. Wnen it says "play FIFA", just click on the button and that will be enough.

Ah, thanks mate, that's a lot clearer. I had just assumes that all games that were capable of 60fps would default to that now.

I've got a WiFi 6 mesh network with my series x wired to the main router and a WiFi 6 enabled phone and I get the same pixelation in motion.

@monkman76 the Rewards app on Xbox. The browser site, Game Pass app and console app all have different quests, so you have to check them out separately.

Something is really bugging me about a lot of Xbox games Iíve played over the last couple of years and itís bright light in my games that make them look washed out.

I first noticed it in red dead 2 and Iíve seen it in A lot of
Games including assassins creed Valhalla, fallout 4 etc

Itís when the game simulates bright light and itís really obvious and distracting. I had it on my Xbox one and series x. Tried hdr on and off. Tried adjusting different modes on tv I.e game mode, dynamic etc. just no luck. Even getting to the stage where Iíd buy a new tv to just not see it but unsure if that would make any difference

If your current TV is not HDR or is shit at HDR and then you bought a decent HDR set then yes you would notice the difference.

It is HDR and turning it off or on the tv or Xbox doesnít make a difference. You may be right but Iíd have to spend £800 to find out. Itís hard to describe what it looks like but ... say light is coming through a window from outside and the whole room looks washed out

@Bobbyballsbraces Have you gone through your TV settings and looked for a black level setting? I had this problem with non-HDR stuff on my LG OLED and my Series X. I forgot that the picture settings for non-HDR are separate from those for HDR stuff. There was a black level setting which was wrong, resulting in the dashboard looking washed out.

No I havenít I will take a look though thanks. Itís only when there is lighting effects in games though everything else is fine. If the sun is shining in a game and I faced towards it the game looks washed out. If I turn away itís fine

I hesitate to say it but... is that perhaps how it's supposed to look? If you face towards the sun in real life, everything will look washed out.

There is also an HDR setup menu on the Xbox. Try that too.

My TV must be generally crap at HDR for sure (it was the cheapest of LG's 4K lineup), but I can still tell when a game has a good implementation, such as Gears 5, and when it does not, such as Destiny 2.

Quick question, if I were to copy over games from my Xbox One external HD to my S Series internal storage would there be an issues?

Just thinking it saves downloading 130 GB of games.

You can but be aware that for some games it's pointless as you'll have to redownload them as they get upgraded to be series optimised.

Just to inform you but games such as Red Dead 2 and Valhalla do have terrible HDR implementations so it ends up looking like they are washed out. I just turn it off for those games.

Iíd recommend just downloading them again, to make sure you get the correct version for your console.
Even with a slow connection, 130GB should come down overnight easy enough.

Fair enough, was hoping there might just be a minor update instead.

All good it is what I am doing anyway just wanted to try and bypass it.
