Played some of the demos from e3
Deathtrap dungeon - its looks cheap unlike all the other fmv games, guessing its more special effects this time affected the budget but its as you expect for fmv game

Registered 13 years ago@UKRaver1980 I went the same route in March and never looked back. Get the point about paying a little over the odds, but I figured you’re protected if GP goes up in price over the next two years, you can still stack a year at the end of it using offers, and if you do the rewards challenges you’ll soon be making your play time pay back.
Enjoy! -

I cant get any of the DLC to work on Series X - it is installed but not recognised in game.
It works fine on Xbox One X and I have played the DLC events, but on Series X they are not appearing, or the DLC cars
Its a good racer - not brilliant, but definitely a Sega Rally vibe to it
Happening with anyone else or just me? -

Registered 1 year agoHaha, a little way into chapter 3 and I would have to agree with that... Bloody hell this is cutscene heavy!
Ichi is a great protagonist so far though and it's a decent story so far... Just let me smash a bicycle on a goon's head a bit more frequently FFS! -

Just received my dispatch email, so hopefully get a new Series X (probably a refurb) soon unless the useless UPS lose it again. Hopefully you get your headset soon
@Kernowgaz that’s good mate. It makes you wonder how many times MS have had to do this, essentially write off hardware and send a replacement. They cannot be happy with UPS.
I’ve been tracking my original Series X and Saturday it said due for delivery today and guess what - it’s been delivered!!! Bizarre. -

My Series X arrived on Saturday, a few impressions noone has waited for from a first time ever anything Xbox owner:
- love the inconspicuous design of the console, it's super nice
- the UI is rather cluttered, I have major trouble finding a lot of stuff, but I suppose that's mostly because I never had an Xbox before.
- that said, some stuff is unnecassarily obscure, settings like "When Xbox is off, turn off storage" don't make sense until you look in the manual.
- the (German) UI is full of spelling mistakes and odd translations, this surprised me a bit. I switched it to English just so I could make more sense of the UI. Quite unpolished, compared to Sony.
- I was wondering why some games, like Gears of War 4, felt so sluggish. Took some time to find out that I had to turn on "FPS boost" in the compatibility settings.
- It doesn't make a aound. None, basically. That's fantastic.
- Quick resume is incredible. I keep going back to games unintentionally though by pressing "B" once too often.gif)

No I don't think so, it's just poorly designed.

Quick Resume is great though as you say. What's your gamertag bro? -

Registered 16 years agoSony gave us half a new UI and MS just lifted and shifted the awful XBone one.
It is absolutely awful, mainly because its app based. -

Registered 5 years agoMine arrived Saturday as well, managed to install a few games in time for Fathers Day. I'm liking it a lot so far, compared to Xbox One sluggish UI it's very snappy. -

Registered 18 years agoI find the UI just fine. Although that’s probably because I have been using it daily for years and am just used to it. You can customise it too which helps.
It did get me thinking about the worst part of the Xbox ecosystem though and I think it’s the labels on the controller. After all these years I still don’t really know what they are. One is ‘start’ and one is ‘menu’? I call the one with the horizontal lines the hamburger button and that’s about as far as I have got. -

Registered 5 months agoWhen the Series X was first revealed I didn't like the form factor of the console, thought it was boring and uninspired. But now I've got it I agree it looks cool and high tech, and isn't nearly as big as I thought it would be.
I agree that the UI is terrible, just remember "My Games and Apps" is where everything is. It's only saving grace is how fast it is now on the S/X. -

Registered 3 years agoThe left button is called the view button, it doesn't really have a set purpose and varies from app to app and game to game. The hamburger button is the menu button.
I still call them back and start though because I am old and change is difficult (even if the change was about 10 years) -

Registered 17 years agoFrom a design POV, the UI is so ugly. Its lot of icons on the screen. There is nothing slick or modern about it. Its better than previous UI for xbox one but thats not saying much -

Registered 16 years agoIt doesnt do itself any favours. I actually forget the store part of the UI actually exists, so I never even look at it. -

Registered 18 years agoNot icons - tiles. That was their schtick from the Windows Phone / Win 7 era. Not long now until they bin it off, hopefully.
That said, nine months in or whatever it is - I've made my peace with the UI. Especially now it has some good QoL updates like seeing a list of Quick Resume games. -

Registered 15 years agoI quite like the Xbox UI, but I've used it so much, I can bounce around it very quickly and easily. At this stage, it's impossible for me to tell if it's intuitive or not.

Because that's all anyone ever does on a console. No need to buy anything, or set graphics settings, or add a friend, or start a party, or adjust headset volume, etc etc.
