I never thought I'd see the day, but since I now have a family that goes to sleep earlier than I do, I love wireless headphones. I plumped for the official wireless ones from Microsoft for Xbox. Very impressed. Very comfy. Very clever.

Edited for clarity. Because my phone wants to make me look like an incoherent idiot.

Yeah, using the Astro A50s that I got for the Xbox One which are fully compatible. They make such a difference when it comes to immersion. And yeah, I don't wake the house up which is an added bonus.

Just got my series x yesterday, any set up tips and tricks? So far it doesn’t seem to be a massive improvement over my 1x, load times are better though. That said only a few games are actually series x updated. No mans sky still shimmers in space stations, which is disappointing.

Sorry about that. It's the bloody autocorrect. It mangled my sentence. I meant to say that I go to sleep before the rest of my household. And comfy headphones are a must.

@Vice.Destroyer Why would you need headphones if you go to sleep *before* the rest of the household? :D

I guess I felt the same way as well. The improvements are subtle and it is really the quality of life improvements that are pronounced. I guess the only thing to do is have patience. The games that will justify your purchase are coming.

I was wondering if you sleep with comfy noise-canceling headphones, but it didn't seem particualrly likely. :)

Did you ever see that thread where I discovered a new brother, Uncle Lou?

Quick question, I have the last 2 horizon games on the pc Windows store. Without game pass, which I intend to get soon, can I still play them on the x or are they locked to pc

I think they are both play anywhere so you should be able to play them.

Yeah, I'd bought Forza Horizon 3 on the Windows store on launch (wish I hadn't - CPU bug didn't get fixed for aaaages) and it appears on my Series X as a purchase too.

Other way around for me. I own Horizons 3 and 4 on Xbox, and they're both available on PC for me.

Oddly, so was Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, and that wasn't even published by Microsoft.

@oldskooldeano Did you receive your headset today? I was supposedly getting my Series X according to a text from UPS but obviously they fucked up and this message appears now - A delay has occurred due to late processing by UPS brokerage. We are adjusting delivery plans as quickly as possible.

    UPS really are dogshit.

I saw the Series X was in stock this morning at Amazon and seconds later I’d impulse bought one!

Now I’m on the hunt for offers on Game Pass, any offers about?

    @IronGiant

Congratulations for owning both next gen consoles. Are you a new subscription to gamepass? You should be able to buy 12/24/36 months of Xbox Live Gold from cdkeys for a fair price then "convert" it all to Gamepass for £1. Obvs the more.months you buy to begin with the more you save in the long run.

Incredibly satisfyingly having a paid in advance subscription and watching the MS E3 show thinking that in effect you've already paid for every game they showed and getting it on day one.

I had game pass 2 years ago when I had an XB1X, just let it lapse so am I excluded from these offers?

It's not impossible to get the £1 offer again, not guaranteed either.

If you don't just grab a 7 day Ultimate code from Eneba, that'll convert the whole lot for you.

This update for Metro Exodus is strange. Putting aside the low resolution on Series S, which is really not that noticeable after a while, ray tracing is a bit weird.

At times, it does look much more natural than standard lighting. It's not that noticeable when you are playing, yet I'm sure that if I were to go back to the regular version, I'd find it far less natural.

Other times, it kinda baffles me instead. For example, if I enter a dark room, turn on my flashlight, then turn it off, the room has become permanently less dark for some reason.

Last week I was able to convert it on the website even though I didn't have the £1 offer on the dashboard.

I think it seems to come down to the way the eye reacts to light which does happen in a dark room.

Nope, it still works. Did it yesterday, also with a lapsed GPU sub that I used the conversion on initially. Just buy and apply up to 3 years of Gold from somewhere - CDKeys was cheapest for me - and then sign up to the ‘3 months for £1’ offer from the Xbox website.

Seen a few places tonight reporting that the Series X server blades are rolling out to xCloud.

It's definitely running on the browser version at xbox.com/play.

The Game Pass app is still launching the One S versions though.
