    @dfunked09

I feel you. Spend all day at the computer and then I’d rather just faceplant on the sofa in the evenings.

As I like the Cobra kai tv show, thought I would try the game as its free to play this weekend and its cheap production wise (even the sale price is rip off). Also I don't think the designers know what size a wheelie bin as its bigger than Miguel

For some reason I ended up putting Cyberpunk aside for a run through of Ace Combat and ended up getting all the DLC. Tried going back to Cyberpunk and it was one of those times where you leave an RPG too long. I may hold off for the XS patch. Had a play on performance mode and didn't like the visual downgrade and then played in visuals mode and didn't like the frame rate! Really hope they can get it to 4K 60 when native.

So I've started Gears 5 and to anyone who said it was a real showpiece you are right. Wow. I know it looked pretty good on the One X but I don't remember it having the smoothness with it. I may actually finish it now. The whole opening sequence to the snow parts was also the best the series has played since 3 as well IMO.

Also started playing Katana Zero. Haven't played a Devolver game since I got rid of my PS4 years ago. I think this is even darker than the Hotline games.

My elite series 2 controller arrived today. Its in a basically new condition to my eyes, just arrived without the outer packaging. Looks great, hopefully its not one of the many faulty ones. 70 euro is an absolute steal for it.

@mikew1985 mine was not quite new but still works great (so far). A bit scruffy on a couple of the sticks that I'll never use so I had a moan to Amazon about it and they refunded me £12.50. So £50 for an Elite S2 I'm well chuffed with. Will put it through its paces if I ever get through Returnal.

Nice, very good deal. I might get a bit of a chance to use it this evening to examine in detail but sticks all look like new to me. Will give a closer inspection later.

Where are you getting these second hand Elite 2s? Or are you saying they are all refurbished from certain retailers?

Given the quality control issues of the second gen I'm not sure if risk it with a refurb, although £50 does sound pretty tempting!

Still love my gen 1, but no Bluetooth gets a bit annoying when I need to dig out another controller to use with my shield TV, and it's one of the last things that I still need a micro USB cable for.

Amazon had a bunch of like new ones reduced to 60 odd quid in their warehouse deal. I missed out on those but I got a 'very good' one. Worth a punt I thought and if there's any issues Amazon are good enough that I can just send it back.

Gutted today. Though MSFS was out but it's tomorrow.

Cautiously optimistic for this Ascent game as well this week.

@gossypboy I just went on Amazon chat. If they offer you a full refund ask if you can return for a replacement (you can't). Ask if there are other options. Above all be polite.

@BigOrkWaaagh ok thanks mate I will give it a try later.
If it wasn't for the sticks I would think it was new.

Lame, after a bit of play with the series 2 it's clear the rb button is faulty. So faulty is it that there is no way that it wasn't sent back for how faulty this one button alone is.

They obviously just repacked it and sold it again. Will have to send it back.

Yeah, the bumpers are one of the things that go on them. Had mine replaced twice as on the first replacement after a bumper went the dpad just wasn't working at all. The face buttons aren't very good and one of the paddles is pretty poor as well but I just don't have the energy to go through it again.

@mikew1985 Have you thought about sending it back to MS? Amazon will just give you your money back but MS might give you a replacement pad. Mine is still in warranty with them until January.

Yeah, I do want one. Just hard to justify that much money purely to save myself having to delete and reinstall some games now and again.

I got one a fortnight ago, because this thread told me to.

Very happy with it, enough gaming loaded now to last the decade, almost literally, and about 500gb free for whatever GamePass devlivers.

I'd rather grab a more useful 2TB SSD and an enclosure for that price and just make do with shifting stuff around to be honest. Can definitely see the appeal of keeping things tidy and not having to care where a series optimised game is before you launch it though...

I shifted stuff around recently and took a 4TB QVO from my PC and use that as my external at the moment and it's gloriously overkill. Might switch it back with a 5TB spinning drive at some point, and it's nice having the choice of doing that if I want to.

As tempting as the official NVMe is, I went for an external SSD. Still got the quick load times for back compatable/Xbox one games and for new gen games that have to be on internal storage, it takes about 5 mins to transfer 80gigs (compared to say 15 mins on a HDD).

Also, pro tip! A few S/X games will actually launch from an external SSD. Halo MCC for example, which saves 100gigs of storage on the internal.

I've designed a yellow and black controller, inspired by 1989 Batman. But I'm not buying it.

Chancing my arm with them as we speak, the thing is literally 2 weeks out of warranty so not overly hopeful but it's close enough to maybe get a goodwill replacement. We shall see. No big deal if not, can still get a full refund.

Edit: Warranty replacement approved. Lets see.

I think I'll probably wait until the inevitable DualSense-inspired pad reversion, but we've said the kids can design their own pads for Christmas.

I'm tempted to order a white one with the candy-coloured buttons and pretend it's a Dreamcast controller.
