while taking a break from enjoying the sun over the weekend i decided to have a quick go on zoo keeper, but as i sparked up my ds i happened to notice on the menu pictochat! the chat tool with a million and 1 uses before the ds was released! the prospect of sending messages to other ds users while sat in McD's seemed a laugh at the time fast forward 6 months... has anyone ever used this or tried it, i dont recall seeing a ds in sue publically never mind them having pictochat running on it at the time |

Registered 18 years agoTried it once with the nephews-to-be to find out its limits.
Goes through walls pretty well, and when we left their house the signal lasted about 200m down the road.
I fire it up on the train occasionally just to see if there's anyone else using it but there never is...
Destined to remain an underused novelty I suspect...
Edit - Bad apostrophe. Bad!

Registered 20 years agoI will use it a LOT to talk to my yank penpals once DS gets online properly.
We're all art nuts, it'll be a blast.

Registered 17 years agoStarted it up once, drew a squiggle that didn't even look obscene no matter what way i looked at it or squinted. Never fired it up again.
If you're dying to get some picto-chat action, I suggest you get yourself to a nearby school. Bound to be some use of it there. -

Registered 18 years agoA buddy and I use it to take turns to draw a panel of a comic strip. It basically ends up being us drawing bad pictures of Batman and swearing a lot.
I like it a lot, but I think Tycho from PA hit the nail on the head by calling it a matchmaking service for the PSP. (: )) -

What do you mean when it gets properly online? I think I've missed something here & the prospect of that sounds quite exciting! -

I've heard it's great for setting up Wifi matchups whilst on airplanes.
PSP wifi matchups too.
You're not meant to do that are you? Thought that interferred with the aircraft controls/sytems? -

Registered 18 years agoI used it once in the cinema (before the film started) with a friend. It's a challenge to have it on more than 1 minute and not swear on-screen or draw any reproductive organs or mammary glands. -
Had great fun with Pictochat on the train home on Saturday. Three of us were basically making lewd comments and suggestive pictures concerning the hottie sat next to me (we were on a table). Much chortling and guffawing was had (poor girl) - until I realised there was a couple of girls reading over my shoulder looking entirely unimpressed.
