    1)Steamworld Dig 2 Xbox one X 03/01 (7/10)
    2)Doom 2 Switch 31/01 (10/10)
3)Doom 2 No rest for the living Switch 12/02 (10/10)
    4)Doom 64 Switch 25/03 (9/10)
    5)Doom 64 The Lost Levels Switch 25/03 (9/10)
    6)Gunman Clive Switch 01/05 (7/10)
    7)Dragon Quest XI Switch 11/05 (7.5/10)

8)Deliver us the moon Xbox OneX 28/05:

The main thing the game has going for it is it's atmosphere and the soundtrack adds to the sense of isolation. I Played the 1080/60 option thinking that would play best but the gameplay drops to what feels like 10fps anytime you need to do anything other than walking. The gameplay consists of very basic puzzling but when combined with the slow as molasses movement makes the thing an absolute chore to play. A Sci-fi no thriller

    3/10

Completed four games in the series now so can safely say it is one of my favourite games series ever. Absolutely love them. I've got Saints Row 3 started so need to play that, but really want to start 4 now!

Also near the end of Neo Cab on Switch and have bought Xenoblade Chronicles so will be mixing those up, wahey!

@Humperfunk First time through the series via the Kiwami games? How did you find the jump to the older style 3? I played through the whole numbered series in order from the PS2 (and obviously did the Kiwamis as they came out). I haven't properly played my Remastered collection yet other than trying the Chinese demo of 3 when it came out (and that seemed fine to me despite being after Judgement). Always had a soft spot for the series myself with the Kurohyos (pair of PSP spinoffs) being the only ones I haven't bought or played.

@One_Vurfed_Gwrx yeah done them from 0 onwards. It was jarring at first but not as much as I thought it would be, and by the time you get to the main town it felt completely normal and was fully used to it!

Really want to play Judgement as well, hopefully will be in a proper sale by the time I get around to it. Think 7 will be a PS5 launch title so would love to get them all done before that but unlikely really...

Judgement is pretty much completely standalone so you can play it whenever you wish even of it is chronologically after 6. 7 got announced on Series X so guessing multiplatform launch at the end of the year. The Japanese font size wasn't great on the demo so only tried a little of it but heard good things. FOTNS was my only 'Yakuza game' this year so far. I may give 3 a go though as I recall it not being too long (I don't go for platinums just all substories and unique mini games (with Amon being hit or miss depending on how hard he is in each game).

3 to 5 will show you the nice progress scale towards 0 (5 was the first game with that engine). I would still like to see an Ishin localisation snuck out while Samurai are 'in' with the likes of Ghost of Tsushima and Sekiro.

Hadn't played this in about three weeks and didn't realise I was 15 minutes from the end! Great characters and interesting narrative, clocks in at about 5 hours. Lots of different endings but think I'll have a look on YouTube later at some.

    Now for Xenoblade on Switch.

Aged better than the first game, but the volume of enemies you are expected to fight, really hurts the game and progression. The story and characters are great and I really enjoyed that part of the game. What I did not enjoy is repeating sections time and time again due to afore mention issues with bullet sponge enemies and sheer volume of "set pieces"

This is the OG Xbox version, aka "the other one". It plays more like the old trilogy, although the trust system tries to shake things up a bit. For the most part it does manage to put some tension on you.

But it also feels a bit too much like a cheap knock-off of Chaos Theory. Guess the 360 version got the majority of the budget.

    9. Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise (PS4) (28/4/20) (8/10)

    14. Uncharted 4 (PS4) (3/6/20) (7/10)

Finished Uncharted 4 on normal after 18 hours but only 36/109 treasures, 13/25 journal entries and 14/23 journal notes (I tried to look for them somewhat but didn't waste hours on big maps hunting). Only 17% trophies. Pretty game which makes my PS4 sound like a jet engine... Storyv was okay and some interesting locations but still a few too many gunfights versus goons (it may be my memory but it felt like less gunfights than the prequels that I haven't played for years). Decent game but not exceptional but I only played it as a palette cleanser and it did what it said on the tin. Climbing generally fun but some unclear sections which were repetitive.

Started Hitman 2016 on PC but not sure whether that will be a quick or slow game. Also Gris which should be a quickie. May get back tobThimbleweed Park if I can remember where I am up to on PS4. Not going to start Xenoblade or P5 Royal yet. Still way behind schedule...

Great to return to the Saints Row games. Got 73 out of 80 trophies, only ones I missed really were the ones to grind for ages which I think would have taken some of the fun out of it. But really does make me hope that Saints Row 5 when it releases (as they are working on it) is a return to more of this and less of the super hero stuff of IV. Loved IV, but I think more of 2 and 3 style would be great.

Unsure what to play next on PS4, continuing to plug away at Xenoblade on Switch but think I'll boot up something short like Gris and power through that, then it's between Yakuza 4 and Borderlands 3 I think to take me up to The Last of Us Part II.

A remake of the original Prince of Persia, seems to use effectively the same levels layout and only updates graphics and controls.

Bought it together with POP 2008 thanks to some MS rewards and a free gift card they randomly gave me. Glad I did, it was better than I expected. The original is too unwieldy and difficult to play today, much like Another World, while this remake controls a lot more like Oddworld (which is fitting, since that series borrowed a lot from POP). Free from its unresponsiveness, what you have is a short but nice action platformer.

The time limit is much more generous now, since you can always go back to replay previous levels to decrease your current tally, so anyone can finish it with a bit of effort. Took me around five hours in all. The graphics look nice too, although obviously 2007 was a long time ago now. It's also one of those early XBLA games that had to fit into 50MBs, so it won't force you to delete anything off the hard dive.

I'm in a Prince of Persia mood now... maybe I'll actually give the 3D sequel from 1999 a chance during the weekend.

Game 9: Rise of the tomb raider PC

It's been so long since I beat the first one but feels very similar gameplay wise. Didn't care for the story and the game is far too littered with collectables and tat strewn everywhere you look. Most games I listen to the audiotapes but when there is probably hundreds of them throughout the game and the story is only basic it just becomes tedious. More optional tombs were nice but they were small with basic puzzles and don't really offer a sense of exploration or discovery.

    7/10

    15. Hitman (2016) (PC) (9/6/20) (8.5/10)

Completed the Hitman campaign (through Hitman 2 Legacy mode) with an emphasis on trying to go for all story missions and aim for Silent Assassin (only actually got it twice as I didn't overdo retries) on Professional difficulty. I need to go back and do some more story tasks on a few of the eaier missions where I was lazier whilst getting the hang of it but I consider it 'finished'. Nice and pretty sandboxes (with 21:9 support), albeit a little tough on the CPU at times with drops below 60 (old 4790K). Gameplay was fun and somekf the extra challenges can be fun. The movie horror style pastiches are something I will try at some point too. The odd minor bug or annoyance here and there but for a game desinged around replaying levels a lot while the season ran I think they did a good job. Nice range of locales from ornate big buildings to more outdoorsy levels lile the Marrakesh market. Story was decent enough to hold my interest. Despite owning all of the previous Hitman games I have neevr done more than dabble so it was nice to get into this with its Thief fancy dress party vibe. I will possibly play through the expansion (won't get a separate entry) and sequel intermittently too but planning to start Trails in the Sky 3rd next on PC. Also want to finish Thimbleweed Park if I can remember what I am doing.... Still way behind weekly schedule.

For 15.99, that is an absolute bargain. A well told story that I was fully invested in.

30 games completed in 2020, completed 31 in 2018 and 32 in 2019...that's what a pandemic lockdown and not having a job will do! Although been in my new job for a week and a bit and not much to do, hence continuing to get through these!

Think now probably just going to do Borderlands 3 until The Last of Us Part II, although will have a look through the backlog for something shorter maybe.

Aged a good deal better than the previous games. However YET AGAIN the volume of enemies you are expected to fight, really hurts the game and progression.
The story and characters are great, likewise the humour is still spot on and I really enjoyed that part of the game.
It is also the most cinematic of the original trilogy. What I did not enjoy is repeating sections time and time again due to afore mention issues with bullet sponge enemies and sheer volume of "set pieces" especially in the last third of the game.
As with the previous games I played on Normal and put down to easy just to get to the end. I do not feel I have missed out on anything, (well except trophies and bonus's) accept lots of additional frustration by playing on the easier settings.
