No idea what to play next he says, before starting and then smashing through the entirity of a new game in two sittings. To be fair, it is pretty short, but wow that was absolutely excellent. Love that type of game where multiple scenes and set pieces are playing out simultaneously and you have to be there at the right time to witness (similar to Hitman in that sense), lovely stuff.

Finally got around to playing through this (Origin says 4 hours but I think it took longer...) so I can play the prequel on my month of Origin Basic. Nice idea and really liked the visual style but the controls could be a bit clunky at times (wall running etc) and the fights could be annoying (I attempted a no guns run and only fought hand to hand when there was a machine gunner ocking progress if you didn't but had to resort to a gun for the last enemy in the server room who seemed impossible to get past otherwise). Story was interesting enough and voices and music/sfx were appropriate.

Next Origin game will either be ME Catalyst or BF V (tried it again a few days ago and really wasn't having fun so will try again later).

A vaguely generic Doom clone. The shotgun feels good, and that's the most important thing. But the level design is boring, and that is usually the second most important thing. It becomes more fun in the third and fourth episode, when the enemy count ramps up considerably, but overall the game takes a bit too long to get going.

Still, a decent six or so hours. Considering it was free, that's enough.

Bosh, another one down. Four of the trophies were for completing the entire level under certain circumstances and a slight error is to start again so fuck that. But a really good game, great puzzles that aren't brain melters so very relaxing to play, particularly with the soundtrack.

Enjoyed it. I'm happy to play an "interactive" movie from time to time. Story was ok, acting ok but certainly nowt special. Horror, Drama genre.
I played through twice over two days with each run about two hours. Both of my stories had very different decision choices and this was reflected in the endings being polar opposites.

I think there are a few more endings and twists along the way but I think I'm happy with my two runthroughs.

Finally went back to finish this (well, I started from the very beginning) since I got about a third of the way through back in 2015. Hasn't aged particularly well, but I'm glad I've played it as I believe it's regarded as a bit of a 'classic' so at least I can say I've done it.

With 38 games complete, that's equalled my highest total since I started doing this in 2015, with 38 complete in 2017! Just one more to go, which might take a while now that I'm working and that all games I have on the go/horizon (Xenoblade, Paper Mario and Ghost of Tsushima) are quite lengthy...

    #35 15/07 Horace (Steam)

An interesting take on story telling with a platformer, however the massive difficulty spike halfway through really sours the game.

Fairly good add-on although it is mostly more of the same. The new enemy types were pretty annoying to fight, but it had good missions overall.

Second or possibly third playthrough, although first time on ps4 and first time in years. With the second game now out (and completed) I think it makes this mini chapter carry even more weight than before and I loved it and spending time with Ellie and Riley.

Just checked my completions for the previous 3 years and at 19*,15,19, it looks like I will have a new record this year!

*last years total of 19 only had 1 PlayStation game (Days Gone) how different this year is so far.

Finished off ME:C having done all character sidequests (not all the races delivery objectives as couldn't be bothered with that) and grabbed what pickups I could see. 26% of world stuff done with only the gridnodes to unlock safe houses 100% done. Spent 16 hours and got 30/49 Origin achievements. Enjoyed the style and look and the city felt nice even if there were too many icons and challenges. Too many arena combat lockin areas lowered the marks. A sequel cluld lool really nice with ray tracing on next gen/RTX though...

Only 2 missions left on route B on Langrisser (5 more routes though before I count it..) Might try BFV again before my Origin promo month runs out...

Played on Origin Basic cheapie month. Started and finished Sea if Solitude. 15/22 achievements taking 4 hours according to Origin. Platform/exploration game about the theme of solitude. The art style is stylistic but suits the world where you are exploring a flooded city while trying to get past large monsters. I tried to get all the seagulls and bottles as I played but missed about a quarter if each I think. Platformy sections are quite generous and you have uimted lives ao fairly easy. A dark story which veers into mental health. But it was well done and kept me interested throughout.

Next I either try Fe or finish Battlefield V campaign... Still pretty far behind schedule...

The mandatory handheld spinoff. Surprisingly, it's a more fun than the console game, if you ask me. But there are simply too many blemishes to give it a higher score. Mostly it's the stylus controls. To the devs' credit, they do work well very often, which is impressive given the amount of moves at your disposal. But they can get very annoying the few times that the game doesn't understand what you really want to do, or when you end up jumping to your death because you clicked somewhere on the screen.

Production values are real weird too, the graphics look fairly impressive for the DS, but the overall presentation feels cheap and each music track is like 20 seconds in loop. Maybe they ran out of space on the cartridge.

Played through the War Stories campaign on normal. Took around 14 hours but didn't get most of the collectibles (just died too many times). I enjoyed the themes and stories in general and it was nice to see lesser known battles being covered but the gameplay let it down. The missions were reasonably well designed and if you had a good run could be fun bit the slightest error leading to another death and long reload got a bit tiresome. Looked oretty in 21:9 on Ultra although very CPU heavy for my poor aging 4790K. Probably the last gake on my 99p month of EA Basic before I cancel. Numbers 17-20 all came under that (bar first Mirrors Edge that I own).

Currently playing Luigi's Mansion 3 and Collar X Malice. With a few more possibile options. Might go back to Trails in the Sky 3rd on PC next...

11)Shadow of the Tomb Raider PC

Improves on Rise of the Tomb raider. Graphically it's a big step up and at times the best looking game I've played. Enjoyed the setting much more and although it's still very much a fantasy world it's much more believable than Rise was.

    8/10

Was planning to play through all the splinter cells for the first time next but the Xbox X has broke so will give Carrion on PC game pass a go

Saw the credits roll this evening, so I’m taking it. First playthrough complete, though I have now found out there’s more than one campaign story.

Fun wee game. Very reminiscent of 80 Days. Played it on my laptop (would have used my iPad, but the iOS version is locked to Apple Arcade).

See, nostalgia made me think for ages that AA was the better game, and it certainly isn't bloated like the Endgame of AC. However, playing the remasters made me realise that the combat and variety of enemies was a lot better in the later game, and it's a lot more pleasant to glide around City's world than it is to try and work out some of the irritating maze like indoor areas of AA when hunting down riddler trophies.

Also the first game looks like an absolute dog in the remasters, with Batman stony expression looking more like he's constipated.

AA is the better game, but if you’re going to be Batman, then you want to be able to swing about Gotham.

So being furloughed I managed to do some jobs around the house, exersice and go on a diet etc. But I also got chance to get back into my hobby which I'd all but stopped. As a result I've been working through a load of games. I'm not going to get 52 but hopefully I'll make a dent in the collection.

As far as remakes go, this gets almost everything right. I'm surprised. Ended up playing all day to finish it.

If you want to experience the first Rayman, but are afraid that it's too hard (which is understadable), this game is easier to approach and has a much more balanced difficulty. Definitely recommended.

Slowed down a bit due to being suddenly hospitalised but I'm back and another beaut down! Excellent game, just great fun and would highly recommend to anyone who likes fun in general. So much variety and character, brilliant.

Now back to Xenoblade I think, although got the Layton game on Switch too. Due to above mentioned hospitalisation I won't be back with my PS4 for at least another month (I'm in Northern Ireland, PS4 is in London!) so still can't play Ghost of Tsushima, but something to look forward to :)
