Tried relationships post marriage and it didn't work. Too complicated too much baggage and the biggest thing is I've decided is I don't want anyone else to meet my children now, after they met two that didn't work out. Don't want to set a bad example of having different men around like that's normal relationships. When they are older I'll get back in the game, by then I'll have to go on oap dating apps. :)

    1) Horace (PC) - 7.5
    2) Atelier Ryza (PC) - 8.5

Good fun. Very laid-back by JRPG standards.

No way in hell I'm getting to 52 this year. Off to a slow start and most of the games I'm waiting on are huge.

#1 17th Jan Monster Hunter World.
    #2 31st Jan Tetris Effect
    #3 3rd Feb Contol (Platinum) 8/10
    #4 4th Feb Gone Home 9/10
    #5 9th Feb The Outer Worlds 8/10

I had a love hate relationship with the game where I found the quests and characters great (Parvati) but found some of the game design choices pretty confusing. Could I only sneak attack with melee weapons? The combat was fine but to be honest I preferred the fallout style of V.A.T.S a little more than the slowed down time.

Overall though, I'm glad they're making games like this still and hope Bethesda take note.

I mainly deducted points because I spent ages on the last encounter and realized that if I respecced my character then I could have finished it hours ago.

    1: Uncharted 1 (PS4) Beat on 23/01/19. Score 5/10.
2: Far Cry, New Dawn (xb1) Beat on 04/02/20. Score 8/10

    3: REmake2 (xb1) Beat on 10/02/20. Score 10/10.

Totally sublime remake of one of the greatest games ever. You can see the love that went into this at every turn. I played as Claire first, just like all those years ago. I will do further playthroughs later in the year no doubt.

The only thing that pissed me off a bit was Mr X, he makes searching through the cop station a little less enjoyable.

    1. Cthulhu Saves Christmas (PC) (11/1/20) (7.5/10) (100% STEAM trophies)
    2. AI: Somnium Files (PS4) (28/1/20) (8.5/10) (PLAT 29/1/20)
    3. Raging Loop (Switch) (12/2/20) (8.5/10)

Horror visual novel from Kemco. Took between 65-75 hours (why Ninte do removed the accurate timer the 3DS and WiiU had I don't know) to do all of the routes, the extra chapters, the secret endings and revelation mode (gives you extra thoughts and some scenes your caharcyer isn't present for). The character art is a bit Iffy but some of the costume designs are quite cool. Story is interesting and uses paths well. Ties in nicely with Japanese folklore which is always a bonus for me. Characters are mostly strong too with even less likable characters early on end up more interesting as the story progresses. Voice acting is decent and music is fairly good too. Localisation is very well done as had to translate some archaic Japanese and explain some important facts about kanji to non Japanese speakers (I do speak some Japanese so this was easier for me and I may have picked up more hints than some with no prior experience). The story amanges to have a few twists and turns, some unexpected and overall I enjoyed it. Some feedback I saw didn't like the final ending but it was sufficient for me to tie up all of the loose ends. Main character is a bit different than the usual VN main too which is necessary for the story. Thankfully not romance focused which is how I prefer my VNs. Pretty cheap now and worth a look if you want one of the few horror focused VNs we get localised (also Death Mark and Spirit Hunter:NG).

Not sure what TV game to play next, maybe something short. Also still playing Trails in the Sky Sc, started Sam and Max Hit the Road, and probably got a few more games in progress I have forgotten about. 3 games behind target I think so need to play more short games.

I spent 10 to 12 hours on Raging Loop so you must have hammered the post game content!

I did everything. Used skip mode to get through the already done revelations stuff to get new stuff. Did you complete all of the routes? As that time seems very fast even for just doing the base game as the extras and revelations didn't take too long after that. Obviously it goes faster if you don't care to listen to the voices (I always do as it is good Japanese listening practice for me). I also made sure to get all of the bad endings as that is part of the fun of games like this generally.

As far as I know I unlocked all the keys that could be unlocked and got to the post game content. I saw a lot of bad endings too. I didn't listen to the audio so that probably cut off a good chunk of time.

If Revelations and Extra unlocked you did all the main stuff (bar potentially doing each bad ending). The bonus endings are joke endings that I spotted while doing Revelations by seeing some new options at two branches.

VNs are a lot quicker if you just treat them as a book. Sadly my method makes them very long which makes my times higher than a lot of averages. See also my AI Somnium time.

Edit - if you didn't do revelations and generally enjoyed the story it fills in a lot of the blanks and thoughts of the characters throughout and I would consider it part of the main story. Just use text skip (previously read text) until you get to a new bit (then you can always use the log to remind yourself of any context you may have forgotten) and read that and go through the story in original chapter order. Or save it for a later playthrough.

    #1 29/01 Red Dead Redemption 2 (PC)
    #2 13/02 Battletech (PC)

Battletech was my first PWYGGWYP challenge game last year, but I got hard stuck. Finally went back and did the second half. Was a lot more enjoyable than the first!

Time for something a little lighter, I think.

I'll probably jump back in and do the post game stuff at some point. I felt like moving on to another game after ploughing through RL in a few days. But as an intyro to VNs it was fairly enjoyable.

I've started World End Syndrome and it's quite good. The first couple of hours are a straight up prologue with almost no choices to be made, just reading. Then game starts properly and makes you choose what to do every day and starts to mix things up.

    #1 29/01 Red Dead Redemption 2 (PC)
    #2 13/02 Battletech (PC)
    #3 13/02 Gorogoa (PC)

Second completion of the day! Got part way through this before and left it hanging. Seems I was on the final chapter, as it only took me half an hour or so to reach the credits.

Clever wee game. Not hard, but required a bit of lateral thinking.

Almost completed this when it was new but was missing a totem but so long it was mostly fresh. It has aged a lot and has a clunky interface. Still reasonably fun though and was fairly short. It's old and everyone knows it so not much to add here. Silly tale of Americana in an engine that is clunker than I remembered.

    #1 04/01 Gris (Switch)
    #2 12/01 The Outer Worlds (PS4)
    #3 18/01 Hob (Switch)
    #4 21/01 Spider-Man: City That Never Sleeps DLC (PS4)
    #5 29/01 Flower (PS4)
#6 03/02 Monster Boy & The Cursed Kingdom (Switch)
#7 15/02 Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (PS4)

Started well, but massive difficulty spikes in the last third, hateful boss design and horrendous loading times really soured this one.

    01. 06/01 - Cthulhu Saves Christmas (PC) - 6/10 - contest giveaway
    02. 25/01 - Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (Xbox One) - 7/10 - Games with Gold
    03. 31/01 - Paris 1313 (PC) - 4/10
    04. 06/02 - Knights in the Nightmare (DS) - 9/10
    05. 17/02 - Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition (PC) - 7/10 - Game Pass

My opinion hasn't changed much over the years. The story is still a mess (despite some additions in this version that explain a few things), the sidequests are still almost all inane fetch quests, the combat is great but still obviously underbaked. The game still has the biggest heart.

The Royal Edition takes a step forward and two steps back. Some additions are welcome, such as new items that make fishing and traveling less annoying. But the new story content isn't great, especially at the end, when a climatic final dungeon is turned into a small open world with the same inane sidequests as before, and the new bosses eventually devolve into QTE sequences. Nowhere this is more evident than in the fact that you get to shortly control Gladio, Prompto and Ignis during these fights - and since their commands are quite different, you get some 9-10 windows of explanation for what amounts to a few seconds of battle. Overall, it ruins the pacing in the last stretch.

All the extra stuff feels like an attempt to save a game that clearly was rushed in the end, but arguably they focused on the wrong bits. What they changed, well, it didn't need to be touched in the first place.

That said, I'll be checking out the DLC Episodes next.

@DUFFMAN5 according to my final card, around 46 hours.

But I reckon it would be a lot shorter if you don't care about the sidequests. I was clearly overleveled by the final stretch. I imagine if you just focused on the story, the game could take around 25 hours to complete.

Worth pointing out that you get some items to start with, that should make the story mode easy even if you only just meet the recommended level (the Ragnarok sword is available from the start and will make mincemeat of just any enemy you warp strike). So it's pretty doable.

    1. Pikuniku 06/01
    2. Gato Roboto 02/02
    3. Arkham Oranges 17/2

Overall enjoyable enough but I would say it's probably the weakest of the Arkham games. Story was good but it suffers in other areas; the gliding and fighting both didn't feel as good as in the others and just overall lacked the polish of the Rocksteady games. 7/10

This time last year I'd already finished 7 games, so way off pace this year.
