    Virtual TdF starting at 2.

Did the first stage this morning – or was it the Etape? – my first time up to the radio tower.

I've not followed any of this to date.
What's with all the symbols popping up?

Massive yawn to virtual racing. It rips any bike skill, grace etc out of it in favour of a raw FTP contest, it’s like triathlon only worse.

I see it's official now that Froome is off: https://cyclingtips.com/2020/07/chris-froome-to-leave-ineos

Not massively surprising given all the rumours.

Froome and Dan Martin in the same squad should be pretty fun

Starting on Satruday with the Strade Bianche!

I just read they're massively changing Milan-San Remo. Local majors on the traditional coast route don't want to close down their roads in the middle of the tourist season.

Are there any streams of the Vuelta a Borgos? I was surprised Eurosport (UK) there isn't even a video without commentary.

I've got a feeling the restart isn't going to get very far: I see Belgium's breaking out; Spain's got outbreaks in certain areas.

    Women's trace is worth a look-in.
Van Vleuten has 14k to catch up 2+ minutes.

It's taken long enough for the broadcast to begin, and fucking Eurosport has gone down!

I didn’t catch it but, fuck, it sounds like Fabio Jakobsen had a seriously bad crash after being shouldered by Groenewegen in the sprint at the fins of the Tour Of Poland today. “Crushed his palette” 😱, serious facial injuries after going into the barrier...

Yep. Looked horrific. At 1m before the line, pretty much the fastest they could be travelling too.

Yeah, I wont be watching that. Hard enough to persuade myself back onto a bike as it is.

Downhill sprint finish with unconnected “safety” barriers, no thanks. Absolutely horrific, and the guy taking photos who got taken out is also in a serious condition

Apparently he’s stable, and no sign of any brain or spinal injuries which is fucking miraculous

    Dauphiné was fun.

I like this new Jumbo Visma team: they are stacked. The whole team could theoretically win, whereas Ineos probably only have the one.

That said, I irrationally dislike Roglic…

Christ... I really wish I hadn't read this.

    (Fabio Jakobsen's injuries)

“He can’t speak just yet because the muscular structure around his mouth and lips is very damaged. He also suffered fractures in the upper and lower jaw. His sinuses are okay, as are his eye sockets. He did lose all his teeth but with the advanced state of esthetic surgery nowadays I suspect the results of this crash will hardly be visible anymore in the future.”
