@ryan_isthisit Yes, that is an issue. But if I understand the wearing/washing guides. You wash every 50 hours of wear, in theory you get 150 hours of wear per mask. That's a lot, especially if working from home. Guess it's different of commuting daily via public transport, etc.

The new episode of More Or Less analyses the difference between the German and British responses

    Damning stuff

Also more analysis of the governments basically imaginary testing numbers and risk to children going back to school

It’s a shame this sort of stuff isn’t more widely promoted but editorially they pander to the audience for tv news

Yeah, it was damning. The breakdown of how they are manipulating the testing numbers was also shocking.

I mean, I shouldn't be shocked, but has it actually been confirmed that they have been counting both components of each test (the two swabs used during the process) as two separate incidences? Literally doubling the figure?

Yep. Also a failed test (dropped on the floor etc) is done again and that single result is counted as two tests.

Every virus molecule found counts as one test.

Also tests posted out count regardless of whether they’re used

They’re basically doing maybe a third of what they claim

Although I obviously disapprove of government half-truths in general, the fact they're manipulating the figures for an unprecedented public health emergency is pretty low.

I wonder if this is why BJ felt confident to announce 200K tests by the end of this month at a time we weren't really even hitting 100K.

They're using technicalities to over report their interventions in an epidemic that's claimed over 50,000 lives in 10 weeks

Typical from these cunts really isn't it.
Can't understand why they set unrealistically high test targets. They were never going to meet them, so they then lie.

Thankfully it's so windy where I am in Yorkshire it would be impossible to have a picnic without losing it all. Bright and sunny but I can't see it being much fun to sit in.

Same again tomorrow as well so might get people to stay in a bit...until it is lovely all next week too...

Yeah, I never get the whole rubbish in the countryside thing. People presumably go to the countryside because it's beautiful and relaxing and natural, then they leave all their shit there. It makes no sense.

And have carried everything there in a bag, so have one with them. People are stupid and selfish unfortunately.

Aside from hospitals or care homes there can’t be many places better suited to becoming an outbreak hotspot than a holiday camp
    Cruise ships :)

The touristy dickheads seem to be staying away from South lakes anyway. I was in a cab earlier, the driver was saying the police are stopping entry to Windermere on the A591, unless it's essential of course. Good news.

I doubt this will surprise anyone but it turns out the government didn't follow the science when it came to reopening schools:

What sucks the most is all these fucking plebs out enjoying themselves when everyone else is stuck at home either looking for work, trying to work or trying to look after kids whilst worried about making themselves or their family or elderly people ill.

Its truly like being punished for doing the right thing, because 99% of the people enjoying the sunshine are going to be fine.
