I mean what do you think is going to happen here? There is no way we will go back into furlough and lockdown again. Itís the same.
    Leicester.
No more Furlough but local lockdowns. What happens to wages if your town/employer gets locked off? That'll be nothing to do with government. So loads of people will still have to go in to work. They'll be more burden on local authorities to intervene and support but where I live at least the cunt Tories have cut our council budget by FIFTY FUCKING PERCENT in the last 8 years.

From the chatter on FB I think my local will be quite busy - outside seating only so the weather may put a dampener on it. I have to say I'm tempted, but I will resist.

Been out locally. Only a couple of pubs open. The local Spoons which had three people stood outside and a CAMRA pub, which was fucking hammered. No sign of social distancing there!

    PUB WATCH WITH BEASTMASTER

3 people spotted in the Owl and Pheasant in Swindon. Peered in the window for several minutes and social distancing seems to be going well. Looks like the gentleman plan to have a game of darts so it will be interesting to see if the darts are thoroughly sanitised between each use. More as we get it.

So that cunt Farage has done his usual "frog with a pint" photo... except he was in the US less than two weeks ago, so he's supposed to be quarantining.

One set of rules for them, one set of rules for us.

Just got back from a quick shopping trip into town. Doesn't look too bad so far.

Most of the pubs are open, but numbers look pretty sparse. A couple of groups sat at tables, but no crowds. Similarly the restaurants that are open seem to have a few tables occupied for lunch, but nothing mad. The busiest place is the local hipster bar, which I used to resent intensely for its beardy smugness, but have warmed to a bit since I realised how good its deliveroo-able buffalo chicken burgers are.

Probably helps that the local O'Neill's, which is the obligatory local shit-pub (and the only one in town to employ bouncers), is closed for remodelling.

Hairdressers and barbers seem to be the pinch-points and they're absolutely rammed. Big queues outside a couple of them.

Apparently a local pub by me (hertford) has a £75 buy in if you want to visit it tonight and is fully booked. So I imagine ALOT of drunk people tonight.

My clinical colleagues are pretty much shitting it in anticipation of a second wave in the winter. Once cold/flu hits and people can't tell if it's that or The Cov, it's going to be a nightmare. But as long as we start clapping again come October/November, they'll be fine.

I'm no scientist and I'm not saying it won't happen, but I've not seen anything to support that a second wave of any significance will definitely happen.
    Well that's me convinced.

Will there actually be this devastating second wave though? This last month or so we've seen thousands protest in close proximity across our cities and towns, thousands heading to the beaches and holiday spots, town and city centres have seen a huge rise in day shoppers and yet numbers continue to drop.

I'm no scientist and I'm not saying it won't happen, but I've not seen anything to support that a second wave of any significance will definitely happen.
You think the population has magically become immune to it in the last 3 months? Thereís a lag between gatherings and it spreading, itís growth is exponential when restrictions arenít in place. One week of protests wonít do that much, a week of protests followed by a relaxation of the lockdown and then opening of pubs means those numbers could start to go up fast in the next month. Schools opening in September means itíll be a mess.
