Quiet Tories are the worst. They're like the dog walkers who clean up their dog's mess when you're looking then wait until your back is turned to tie the bag to a tree.

Is his money or power of whatever the fuck it is really worth the sensation of having that pale bulbous slug crawling all over you at night?
Or, God forbid, squeezing out another fucking tory?

Great thread on the new regs.

    https://twitter.com/AdamWagner1/status/1305276954816503808

My main take away from it is that we could throw a massive party, say it was organised by my wife's (who is a sole trader) business and get everyone to stand in their bubbles if the filth come knocking on the door.

Because, apparently, this is the first time the word 'mingle' has been used in british law.

They’ve basically gone from “everyone stay home from work so that you don’t spread the virus” in April to “no one mix at home so you can continue to work” in September

Flipped all the risk and responsibility away from the state and employers onto private citizens

Speaking of which someone I know needs a test and from Newcastle was offered Galashiels 80 miles away in Scotland. They don’t drive and have been advised not to take public transport so nine hour bike ride it is.

It would total go with the 2020 worldview if the "Russian Fiddler" turned out to be Russian State asset.

Someone's responsible for a massive data breach? They'll probably be in charge next week.

I mean, it is completely on brand for 2020.

Public: we have data privacy concerns over this app. We believe you cant be trusted to keep our data safe

    Gov: Stop over-reacting

Gov: *publishes details of positive test results online*

Well well well, looks like 18000 more people might be in need for some coinbase tech support.

If you organise an anti-mask, covid is a fraud "protest", you can have as many people as you want, wherever you want (just remeber to notify the police in advance you're arranging a protest).

That makes perfect sense - the rule of 6 restrictions won't apply to people who don't believe in Covid.

Unlikely to be enough vaccine for *everyone* until 2024. And that's assuming it's trials go well etc.

One this I wonder about the vaccine...would a vaccinated person still be infectious and just not get ill?

If the vaccine prevents both then it'll start having a big effect on reducing the R number even when 'just' 25% of people have had it.

I was reading an interesting article theorising masks being a stealth vaccine. The TLDR being that corona seems to be dependent on the viral load, you take a big load, you get creamed.

If everyone wears a mask and carries on with life, people will still be exposed to the virus but the load should be small enough for an asymptomatic infection. And it is theorised this has happened a *lot* already.

Hopefully that’ll be enough to help get that herd immunity in as safe a way as possible.

Yeah, had read similar. The role of kids in transmitting to parents and teachers notwithstanding of course.

On a side note.... the girl is entering a bit of a weeb phase, so we have been watching James May In Japan (which is genuinely great. everything you loved about classic top gear minus richard hammond) and one striking thing is that hand sanitiser and masks are already absolutely everywhere.

Its no wonder that part of the world has done so well.

    'wear masks'
'lol, ok. tell us to wear socks next'
