I know stuff gets amplified and concentrated online but it does feel like reason and evidence are increasingly losing argument and influence right now

The prevailance of religion shows that a huge chunk of people have never followed reason or evidence. People act on instinct especially when they feel they're at risk or are in fear. It's unfortunately why we're so easily led by propaganda. It also explains Brexit and Trump - both of which came about in no small part by deliberate playing on people's fears.

Christ, where the fuck do you live?

Unrelated... world beating testing right here:

The UK governmentís ability to inform people rapidly that they have tested positive for coronavirus has collapsed, with just 8 per cent of the people in England who were told they were infectious on Tuesday having had the test that day or on Monday.

At the start of September, before schools reopened, the testing system was reporting positive test results the same day or the following day to 63 per cent of those with the virus, according to data derived from the governmentís Covid-19 dashboard.

Just cone from a funeral, 30 odd people inc funeral staff and they said that is fine we just can't stand in one group but have to or be in seperate groupa of 6 and under.

That meant the 30 people who were socially distancing all around the grave then had to huddled up together to form small groups.

    Brilliant.

Not worth it like Smugla unfortunately found out. I've only done it as part of my job and even then try to avoid it but outside of that? not a chance. Already had one guy get a little close without a mask on in Lidl last week. It's as if they don't understand what social distancing is.

I had a couple try and push in a queue I was in because I had distanced from the person in front. I'm usually so relaxed I'd have let it go but I couldn't so said drew attention to it and explained why I'd left that gap. I still felt like a dick. The husband was murmuring away thinking I'd wronged him but the wife at least seemed to understand.

You can try and do your best all you like, some people just don't care.

If there is one aspect that bugs me about the Government with regards to the COVID-19 advice, is their wishy-washy approach.

My place of work is open to the public, and ever since lock-down was relaxed the place has been busy. Management have placed hand sanitizers on entrances that are free to use, as well as put up posters asking people to wear face masks. All in all, it looks like a good show, a good effort, a nice try.

The reality is different. Most people entering the building do not bother to hand sanitize, and 90% donít wear masks. Distancing is all but non existent. The few who do wear masks, wear them incorrectly, not covering nose, not covering nose of mouth (wearing around chin?) and some of the dumb cunts wear the mask with it hang off of one ear, thus not covering their mouth. This possibly to avoid any possible fines. The hand sanitizers are regularly stolen.

On the subject of fines. The reality is, there appears to be no one from the council handing out fines. No face-mask police, nothing!?

We as staff cannot request customers wear a mask, as it cannot be enforced, all thanks to a government giving out wishy-washy advice. The way the COVID-19 rules apply to some businesses differently to other business makes no sense.

100+ people can meet up in a place of work. No more than 6 can gather when seeing friends and family. Work that one out.

So once you've tested positive and wait two weeks, as long as you don't have a fever you can go out and about again, right?

Still plan on using my mask & distancing etc, to set a good example if nothing else, but I want to be confident that I can't spread to people anymore.

@DeadDeadpool Sounds like you need to consider a new form of hand sanitiser dispenser...
