    Re Vaccinations

An interview with someone who was talking about the eradication of small pox and what they did successfully was rather than mass vaccination they used a sort of test and trace approach to create safe rings around outbreaks only vaccinating in a targeted manner.

Could that be a solution to vaccine hesitant populations?

Not when we can easily travel 100s of miles within a country in a matter of hours and also go abroad.

That approach worked great when people barely went more than 2 villages away.

@souvlaki BoxVR is fairly cheap and actually a workout.

You'll never have a better chance of persuading your company to buy you a PSVR.

Good idea... Oh wait, However customers will be able to collect John Lewis orders from Waitrose stores. Won't that just bring more customers into Waitrose?

Saves them money as they can furloughed the remaining staff in the JL stores.

There are already lamps that do the same thing for a fraction of the price, e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08CB1XKT3/

See Trump was right about the UV light thing. Get one of those on a butt plug and we're sorted.

Plus when all this is over it could totally be repurposed as a light up bauble for Christmas

I can't wait for reports of people sitting in the room whilst it's on. That shit can do some proper damage to you.

Well our current mass vaccination rollout according to a simple priority list isn't going that well, and our previous attempts at contract tracing have been abysmal. So I cant envision much success with a policy that combines the two.

Death figures today are going to be heartbreakingly high. They just announced 1,000+ hospital deaths in England alone. About 250 higher than I've ever seen it before.

There's about 2 weeks of baked in rises to come as well. We haven't even hit the 60k+ cases bunch yet. Sickening to think about.

One of my neighbours who's not exactly a picture of health has their grandkids around. 7 of them running around the garden while the parents and grandparents all sat next to eachother watching. People are so fucking stupid.

    Nope
Lucky really, since today's 1,564 is the the highest death toll since the start of the pandemic

This is why I'm not sure why yesterday the police were focusing on having a go at a (presumably tiny) proportion of people having full-on raves. It makes people think this kind of thing is nothing in comparison.

The ravers all know that they're flagrantly rule-breaking and don't give a shit, whereas it seems likely a lot of people doing this sort of thing assume there's no real harm in it.
