Yeah, but it renders your train ticket unusable so you have to get a replacement all the time.
You won’t be able to use the trains anyway as you’d be stuck to their metal walls if you went near them.

Just waiting after my first jab, it's a very efficient process.

It's the one time through this whole mess I've actually been rather proud of what we've achieved. It was like a Formula 1 pitstop.

It was the last chance to salvage anything from the mess they had created.

Going to celebrate with a visit to the pub for the first time in a while.

To be fair to them while it is a colossal mess it is probably no bigger than pretty much every other western country in not having a fucking clue what to do. Yes UK made huge mistakes but go to any country that has been torn apart by it and there will be the same kinds of shambles.

I thought the advice was to avoid alcohol for 2 weeks for full efficacy?

@grey_matters Nope, that was misinformation, started I think by one of those healthy living foundation thingies (Drinkaware).

Yeah that’s complete nonsense. We’ve had far more deaths for the size of population than all but about 4 countries, we’ve also had a bigger impact on our economy than most so they didn’t even successfully let people die for that.

Why does being a western country keep getting mentioned as well? Is that the nonsense about other countries being more compliant (because they aren’t).

The only thing they did well was invest in vaccines and get themselves to the top of the queue by being selfish bastards at the expense of the rest of the world, but that was a lucky outcome that was needed because they fucked it up so much in every other way.

    Nah, bollocks to that.
There will unquestionably be forums similar to this right across Europe and beyond slating their own governments for its awful failures and mistakes. We are not alone in the what a complete ballsup camp is my point.

Whichever prick came up with the term "freedom day" can fucking do one. That sort of framing doesn't help anything.

My brother-in-law and a friend of his went to Edgbaston yesterday for the cricket - having seen pics of the crowds there, I'm going to be avoiding him for the next few weeks. Seriously?

I think they all had to prove a negative test before going in. Which is why it took so long for the ground to fill up.

These are all part of the pilot events where you need to provide negative tests etc. I wouldn't be worried about it.

Given the noises from Johnson over the last year I wouldn’t be surprised if it had come from Downing Street

    https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/jun/10/reading-council-seeks-closure-of-quarantine-hotel-after-covid-outbreak

"A council is threatening to shut down one of the government’s quarantine hotels for foreign travellers over fears that infection control failures led to a Covid outbreak among guests spreading to the local community.

The hotel has had an outbreak of 44 cases among staff and residents, and the council has demanded it close after three people in the community contracted the virus after coming into contact with infected staff."

Don't they have to have negative tests to fly? I wouldn't put too much trust in testing for large events...

For those that got side effects after their jabs, how long did they take to kick in?

I'm feeling pretty chuffed all I've got is a dead arm so far.

Sore arm lasted a few days. Sleepiness was the day after the jab and that was it.

@Rum_Monkey After the first Pfizer, noticed a sore arm around 2 hours afterwards and it went away 24 hours later.

After the second Pfizer, had fatigue kicking in around 8 hours after the jab and lingering for 24 hours.

The pattern seems to be that with Pfizer, you get more side effects after the second than the first. AZ is the other way around.

I think people don't give much of a fuck now as they think the vaccine will 100% protect them or think "its over as its freedum day soon" Just reading how the delta variant is more transmissible and the vaccines are less effective.

Today in tesco, lots of cunts with their nose sticking it out. Old git with nose sticking out was talking to staff (both had masks as chin hammock) as they were telling where something was. I just find it moronic that some have to have their nose sticking out their mask, might as well not have it on (few days ago there news footage of UK tourists going through Faro airport, going home and of course a big gammon with nose sticking out

It was 9-10 hours for me, so you should be in the clear by now.

Got my letter about the 2nd jab in a few weeks. Dreading it, tbh, I felt like I'd been beaten up ffs.

Hope there's no after effects this time round!
