So school have texted through to come and pick the kid up 20 minutes after dropping him off. It turns out the class should have been isolating since last Wednesday. Cool, no problem. He was only in all last week and then mixing with others over the weekend with us none the wiser. Really fills me with hope that we've got a handle on this potential third wave.

Had a wedding on friday. As expected, masks inside stopped being a thing three or four pints in and when the music was on, everyone was leaning in and shouting at you to be heard.

Im not sure theres a lot you the gov can do now. Once people are vaccinated, thats it, pandemic over. All they are doing now is hurting businesses.

Went out out with a few mates on Sat for the first time in 15 months, similar experience. The bar staff tried to make people keep to the rules but it all feels very arbitrary and the rules are conflicting.

Try booking through here for the second - the system checks your records, if it's strictly to be booked by your GP, it'll reference that (good luck).

I wasn't there for it, but apparently there was a good big brawl in the local shit pub on Saturday. Certainly, there was broken glass and police tape on Sunday morning. Hope they had their bar brawl in a socially distanced Covid-secure way.

Feels like we are one of the few countries without separate rules for people that are fully vaccinated.

Vaccine passports just seem like such a no-brainer and that's coming from someone who isn't due their second jab until the end of July.

Yep, I was so so close to heading down to one of the local cricket clubs to watch the football on the big screen outside yesterday. Having seen how overcrowded it was and videos of the ensuing massive drunk brawl that took place after, I'm glad I gave it a miss.

UGHHH... hear that there's an anti-lockdown protest in London on the 26th.

Lockdown protestors just come across as having zero fucking empathy for anyone outside their vapid myopic lives. Absolutely bellends, all of them.

They should just end the restrictions as planned and put out a statement saying "As far as we're concerned, we've done our bit. Enough of you are vaccinated and you've all been told what to do to stay safe so off you fuck and if you catch it now then that's your own stupid fault."

PS. The NHS is now a private company and you need to pay for your care from your own pocket.

We'll keep the tax money though, for the old people, our voters.

    Be well.

Delta variant has a bunch of diff symptoms - runny nose, muscle aches, head ache. I have like all of those, generally, all the time, due to kids (million nursery bugs, no sleep) and allergies/hayfever.

Same, thereís no way Iíd be able to tell if my condition was Delta or because I get 4-5 hours sleep while parenting a 2 year old

It's sad that the protests are pretty much focussed on the lunatics rather than those with genuine concerns about their sector and business.

it seems to be a very small percentage of the protesters, the majority are either:

    Paranoid conspiracy wank stains
    racist/gammon and/or "muh freedums types"
people that just like protesting as they wait for their benefits

or mix of all the above

It's all pretty much fueled by the crazies which is disappointing when I'm sure some people have genuine concerns. Lozza turned up as well what a cunt bag.

A friend of mine who works in live music wrote a thing about how the extension was so bad for his industry and mental health and I totally get it but the nutters derailed the comments and now heís getting loads of shit from lockdown advocates who think heís gone all Icke/Corbyn. He hasnít but it kind of illustrates how impossible that conversation has become.

also companies like reddit, twatbook and twatter that don't do much to stop this. Reddit has quite a few subreddits that share the most deranged and fucked up conspiracies, fake stories and even fake US covid vaccine certificates print outs

Mental health is major factor, people need breaks and have fun etc but its actually the conspiracy/antimask/anti vaccine making things worse (the government don't help as they U turn every month it seems.)

I can work from the office few days a week and does help me as change of scenery away from my bedroom office but for some its working in their room 5 days a week. Once international travel is completely fine, I am booking a really nice holiday

The government also doesn't help with all these abritry dates and 'It'll be better by X date'. It just fuels people and businesses anger when they start prepping for a certain date only for the government to pull the rug.

I am starting to get concerned about a few really good music venues that will probably now get turned into flats or something else. Government support for the night time economy has been pretty shite.

Yeah the lack of government support and understanding - plucking dates out if the air for example - definitely contributes to peoples frustrations and poor mental health. And hurts businesses trying to organise.

I half joked about it early on but I really do think that having a new born in 2019 shielded me from most of the mental health and social life-grieving side of lockdown because Iíd largely lived that way for a year already. I didnít really miss what Iíd already accepted I couldnít have. Plus living in a village life barely changed anyway since the Co-op is pretty much as exciting as it gets here.
