@JamboWayOh Hoseasons / cottages dot com (same company). I did speak to someone from their complaints team on day 3 of the holiday and she rang the owner, but didn't really address the fact that we don't trust what the owner's saying. The owner claimed that her cleaner broke her hip and she only found this out 45 mins before our arrival time. But I did some sleuthing and found an ad the owner placed on Facebook that day, for a cleaner, obviously in relation to this place. Would you do that with 45 minutes notice? Also, bad reviews since May... Edited by hedben2013 at 11:50:09 06-08-2021 |

Registered 9 years agoIt really seems like the owner's just given up. I was even thinking of trying to leave a message for the next occupants to warn them- our first night would have been a bit more tolerable if we'd realised she wasn't coming.
What's a good place in a cottage to hide a note that a cleaner won't find but the next occupant will?? -

The microchip is working well, I got the vaccine in the morning and felt ok
Ran 4 miles after work and then played a few holes of golf. Actually birdied the 4th hole where it's usually a struggle to make par
Until yesterday I'd never done any running or played golf before so I'm happy with how things have turned out -

Sounds like you could've just smeared your message on the walls in excrement and it'd still be there for the next people.

Registered 16 years agoThe ONS Covid survey results out this morning are good news. The survey has a degree of lag built into it - so the results are for the week up to 31 July - but they do show that the infection rate dropped then. The rate is still very high - 1-in-75, down from 1-in-65, but it's still confirmation that the fall in the case-rate back from that mid-July spike wasn't an illusion caused by people not getting tested (or the wrong people getting tested).
The methodology the ONS survey uses means it isn't affected by national trends in who's getting tested. -

It is good news but 1 in 75 still represents extremely high infection levels and doesn't account for the much larger drop in case numbers we saw in late July. I would agree that the fall in infections wasn't a complete illusion but I do think it was exaggerated due to people not getting tested or the wrong people getting tested.

Also the demographic of those catching the virus would probably mean a higher number of asymptomatic cases that don't end up appearing in the case numbers. Would be interesting to know how many asymptomatic cases were found in the ONS infection survey -

Registered 11 years agoWell my family added 5 to the tests total thanks to my sister's "it's all exaggerated" live in boyfriend who tested positive last night, followed by her and my 10 year old niece today. Mum and stepdad who look after niece while sister works did their tests today but both feel a bit run down so likely be positive I'd say. I tend to keep my distance and am sensible with it all usually but had to watch niece for a couple of hours on Wednesday due to the rest having various appointments to go to at the time. I'm feeling perfectly fine other than tiredness but that's due to a 60 hour week so I'm hoping the fact that niece spent most of the time in my bedroom on her tablet while I was on main TV means I managed to avoid it. -

Saying that, if one of those cunts incubates a newer variant that supercharges its spike and gets around vaccines then I think there should be a global law enacted permitting the killing on site of any cunt not wearing a mask and not vaccinated. -

You realise it's still killing a bunch of fully vaccinated people right? Sure, the odds are significantly reduced, but you might want to spare a little speck of fuck for the poor bastards that lose at the random number generator.

The trade off of thinning the planet’s dense populations of stupid is too enticing to worry too much about a breakthrough infection. -

Registered 11 years ago@mrpon very hard to describe it without being offensive to others but it's kinda like Stallone and Jim Ross had a baby. I actully think the picture is cursed as no one remembers my mum painting it, not even her, yet it's here hanging on my wall and I vividly remember her painting it and asking if she's using a wonky table.
But on topic my test came back negative, arrived at 1am so less than 12 hours. Stepdad and mum still haven't got their results but are acting like mine clears them. Had to remind them that I spent less time around them and only took it as a precaution, don't feel ill and very likely had it last year when there was no testing. They've taken a huff and decided to stay in until the results arrive so at least they are listening this time. My family are idiots. -

Good. Fed up of anti-vaccinated telling people to stay indoors and let others get on with their lives. No. You stay the fuck indoors and let everyone else get on with life., -

Registered 7 years agoFirst time I've felt like a pariah for masking today. At an indoor skate park. Busy as hell because of Olympic fuelled taster sessions. Four people I've counted including my lot in masks.
I do believe if they made seatbelts, indicators and possibly clothes a choice these days, most would choose not to use them.

I forgot to take a mask into a shop the other day. Wasn't expecting to go in but realised when there were still people masking up. I'd say it's still probs about 40% masks.
I get why people wouldn't do it in an indoor skatepark. Those things are massive tbf. Not like popping into B&M.
I did get a chortle at the local garden centre. "Please continue to wear masks outdoors". Felt bloody ridiculous tbh. Nobody about, mask on, in the drizzle.
