Ha, just saw the public health warning advert, telling people to stay indoors, then they followed it with a Coop advert of a young girl running around a forest.

    Cruel.
Quite. Current advertising is all about freedom and life, family meals, driving into the wild, etc. It jars! But are typically made 5/6 months ahead of the seasons. But what to do?

Well shit, there's only 28 died today. That's fucking brilliant news.

Yeah, I think that's an outlier though and tomorrow we will be closer to the other days. But any positive news is welcome.

The fact that we seem to be on a completely different path of growth than Italy and Spain is a huge relief though.

It's so weird. Same virus. Similar societies. Often vastly different trajectories. Or will they all end up basically the same, we're just at such an early chapter in this story.

Wonder if there's subtle differences / mutations depending on the patient zero(es).

Given the number of footballers, politicians and celebs who have tested positive I'm convinced it's spread far and wide.

I'm also a little peeved that the rich and famous are being tested ahead of NHS staff.

All people who use airports a lot, shake a lot of hands and meet lots of different people from all around the world. And yes, it has spread far and wide.

Guess they get tested ahead of NHS staff as they just pay for a private test.

Yeah I've got no doubt the shit is absolutely everywhere, especially around London, but the fact that Italy and France's deaths were fucking exploding into the hundreds at this point on the curve has got me pretty optimistic we're on a different path to them and may avoid the health service implosion that they're seeing.

We don't kiss on hello and goodbye like the Italians/Spanish, that's probably had an effect on our numbers I'd guess.

41 deaths in the UK (28 was England only).

Still oddly low compared to Spain, France, Italy etc. And France have confirmed they've only been counting those who died in hospitals so far, expect a sudden increase from them once they add all the care home deaths...

    How many new UK cases?
Or have they stopped publishing them?

    Edit:
    Found it
1452 new cases, which is still increasing

Yeah, I know. But all I could find is useless stuff like charting new infections.

Switzerland now has the highest rate of infections per capita, overtaking Italy.

@Malek86 True. They also massively increased testing capacity, which leads to more discovered cases.

I read that Italy today has made more tests than ever before, so the fact that our numbers are going down is a pretty positive result.

Still can't stop being worried until I see the number of infected actually decreasing. That will take a long while though. Really sucks that, whether you recover or die, this virus takes its sweet time inside your body.

Hopeful that we don't seem to be mirroring other countries. Hope it's going to stay that way. Feels awful thinking like that though.

That would quite frankly surprise me, given how sloppily it's been handled by both government and population. We shall see in a few weeks how things stand.

Spain does worry me, and also the way some of the big countries such as US and Russia handle it. The Great Leader above all else I guess.

    That number isn't bad.

I do still harbour a lingering expectation things will go from 0 to "oh shit" any day now though.
