Hi all, I've been reminiscing and wondering what everyone's favourite guns from an FPS have been over the years? For me, I'm still in awe of Turok 2's Shredder shotgun after playing the recent remaster. The K-Volt from Crysis 2&3 has a glorious sound to it. Registered 17 years agoI'm not sure its my favourite gun overall but using/obtaining the handgun for the first time in Half-Life 2 was extremely satisfying.

RC-P90 in Goldeneye
Farsight in Perfect Dark
SR-8 in Urban Terror
M4A1 in PUBG
Tie between Devotion and Alternator in Titanfall 2
I've shot a lot of people...
Favourite out of that lot would be the Railgun. Precision death machine.

Registered 14 years agoPretty much any shotgun with some real kick. That means the single shotgun from Doom and Quake 2, the hunting gun from Serious Sam, and the Spas from Half-Life. -

Registered 12 years agoPre-nerf Vex Mythoclast was the most fun. Taking that fucker into PvP was straight up cheating, and I don't hold an ounce of remorse at the amount of people I gleefully melted before they patched it into oblivion.
Halo 2's BR was an absolute game changer though. -

Registered 16 years agoThe Conference Call and Butcher from the Borderlands games probably top the list for me. Maybe the Lyuda as well. -
I don't think I could name one single most favourite, although the railgun from the Quake games is very high up in the list. Haven't used one in years though, so it may be rose-tinted glasses and it's not as much fun anymore as it was long ago.
Doom 2016's Super Shotgun is very high up on the list too, also its BL3 hommage, the Hellwalker.
Aside from that, quite a few guns in Borderlands 3, and a few in BL2. But I guess nothing beats BL2's Morningstar (a "reward" from nemesis corporation Hyperion that makes passive-aggressive comments on your shooting), and The Bane which is cursed with madness.

Registered 8 years agoI feel strange that I'm actually agreeing with the Dr about something. But yeah the Doom 2016 super shotgun and the Q3 railgun are brilliant. Even though it wasn't a great game the majority of the guns in Rage 2 were actually punchy as hell. -

The Handcannon from Action Quake 2 was also amazing. Basically a sawed off double barrel shotgun with wide dispersal but no range, it was kind of a troll gun for casual play.
I have very fond memories of the G11 in CoD Black Ops. Three round burst mode with an awesome scope.
So many TF weapons were just the bees knees. -

Registered 9 years agoAlthough it's not an fps, the sniper rifle in sniper elite has probably given me the most joy of any gun in a game. The xray shots never got old to me. The rest of the game was a bit janky but that gun was amazing. -

Registered 7 years agoIf we are including tf titans... then it has to be Ion's laser shot and laser core. Lasering ejecting pilots is one of the most satisfying things ever. And then blasting some fucker with your core for the first time. Wowzers. -
