Coming up on 30 pages. Round and round it goes.

    It's such a dull topic.

To be fair we have had quite a lengthy chat about coffee, sauces and subway along the way.

You don't have to like anyone on this forum. You even have the right to think people are complete arseholes. It still doesn't make it right to abuse someone.

I donít like coffee, in fact I donít drink any hot drinks at all

Itís useful in some ways as no one in the office ever asks me get them a brew but I often get free bottles of water as they bring me one back when they get their coffees & teas

I must be about £50 up over the years

That's just plain silly. You need to have a good sit and think about the direction your life is going in.

I also rarely drink hot drinks, never coffee, some infusions very occasionally, mostly in winter or when sick.

Had no idea it was raining last night until the dogs came in looking like they had been In the bath. The mrs uses a white noise machine at night to block out any external noises which is all well and good until we get burgled.

God, that would drive me insane. Hated having to have the baby monitor on. My wife sleeps with earplugs so never really heard the crackling etc. but it used to irritate the fuck out of me.

It takes some getting used to, it's set to sound like rain falling which was the lesser of the 10 evils.

Wunty it's just repetitive sounds that block out other noises. To be fair it does a good job of blocking our sons voice out when he is on his xbox at stupid hours of the morning.

So how does sleeping with ear plugs work? I'd be well up for that but I'd see myself not hearing my alarm and sleeping for a month.

I often sleep with ear plugs, and have zero trouble hearing the alarm.

@Frogofdoom That's worth looking into to help the wife sleep actually. She uses ear plugs but they are forever falling out. Our neighbours downstairs are quite noisy (not deliberately, just a by-product of the way the sound travels through an older building).

I often walk past a quite run down house, which for at least the last 3 years has been progressively losing slates off the roof.

Here it is, you can even see the pigeons that are constantly nesting in the loft:

    https://www.google.com/maps/@51.4456384,-0.9724909,3a,75y,74.56h,96.21t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sfoyy6rXL4LXaps576xwulw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

It's really quite bad now, there's probably a 2 ft square hole in the roof. Fuck knows what it's like inside after the recent storms. 3 years worth of rain pouring into the loft. It can't be good

My other half uses the gel ones that mould to your ears and they seem to work for her pretty well without falling out.

My wife uses these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Quies-Soft-Foam-Protection-Plugs/dp/B0070X1T78. They fall out if I try them but she seems to manage OK.

I believe the washing machine is the most common type.
