For me the pub is my escape from being at work or at home, so the current situation isn't ideal, but what can you do.

Same here. My home being work, school and pub may not turn out so well.

Don't rely on Tesco Online orders. I had one due today and it was cancelled, not even rescheduled, with two hours notice.

Thanks for the heads up. Won't bother with them.

Yep. I just love drinking in pubs. I don't get to do it much with kids and all but it's proper escapism when I do. I can take or leave other reasons to leave the house, but not going to the boozer sucks.

You’re the second person on here who has said that.

Yeah we've got a Tesco order due next weekend. Bummer if it gets cancelled but I'm sure they'll be struggling with the demand and staff levels.

On the flipside, Although limited to a 20 item shop, got 2 X coop orders due between then and now. And hopefully a weeks worth of Hello Fresh.

Plus Deliveroo is getting quite a few small scale grocery providers who can get provisions to our door in half an hour.

Then there's always the actual supermarkets but I've basically told myself I'm not leaving the house/garden now until May. Let the lockdown and self isolation rules (hopefully) flatten the curve somewhat. So grateful to have a decent garden at the moment. Can't imagine being confined to a flat throughout this.

    Waitrose order just arrived.

Without the pasta, rice, bread, yeast, flour, kitchen roll,
    and hand soap.

Did bring me loads of TP and the fresh meat, vegetables and fruit (except for peppers).

Ocado (been using for 2 years anyway) sent me an email saying they’re turning off their reserved service so I went on and my next two slots have been reserved. Quickly edited those to guess at what we might want in a couple of weeks and it’s all gone through. The last order had a couple of substitutions but nothing major.

Bit odd. I assume it’ll stop working after that but hopefully they’ve expanded capacity more by then.

We’re not doing much stocking up, there’s probably only one or two items each week for that. Our only additional is from not going out to eat and having lunch at home every day.

I’m parked in Morrison’s. Pensioner mum is in the queue outside waiting to get in and get what she needs. They’ve introduced a queueing/distance system and time allocations for NHS staff and pensioners after that.

Stating the obvious here but this a fucking marvellous idea. Car park is blissfully quite and people can do their shopping in peace.

I think it opens to everyone else from 10am. I’ll probably still be here to see what happens. Wonder how much of this is due to the “lockdown”.

Ha! Ha! Ha! I don’t think that can sell booze before a certain time. I got a load of different types of Erdinger in from Beer Hawk a while ago. Have plenty.

We got stiffed on our asda order. They were doing like 12 muller rice for 3 quid, so we ordered 4 raspberry, 4 apple and 4 custard.

They now have a limit of 3 per item, so we ended up with nine, which cost more than if we had been sent 12.

The most galling thing is that we could have bought 3 packs and had 18.

    Absolute madness.

Usually if something like that is short delivered on ASDA they charge you the equivalent rate as if you still had the deal. It’s just not made very clear!

As ling as you ordered enough in your basket of course. Phone them and check if need be, that’s the way it should work!

@nickthegun It is infuriating. Tesco have got rid of most of their promo offers. Understand the 80 item limit but doesn't take into account that we are also shopping for 2 or 3 extra vulnerable people.

    Wahey! I've got food.

Asda just delivered, the only one's I could get a slot with.
Got most of what I ordered, the lamb mince turned into beef, large eggs went to medium.
    Only thing missing was handwash.

Unbelievable, I just visited the local supermarket again and they had nearly everything in stock! They even had toilet paper, if you can believe it (not that I needed any, but still)

I've scored not one but TWO (That's 2. Dos. Deux.) packs of spaghetti! The most glorious golden wheat sticks I've ever seen in my life. I'm going to have a feast worthy of a king this weekend.

Right lads, what's the best time to hit the "markets" these days? Haven't been in over a week but think I might need to make a trip in a day or 2.

Around my way it's about 3pm apparently. The queues are normally gone by then.

I was actually thinking around mid afternoon. Mornings seem to be queue heavy, and anyone still working is most likely to go in the evening. I'm steering well clear of the large shops as well.
