@smoothpete Ha yeah I always felt 'rich' when i got my cube delivery and unloaded it in to the cellar. Looking back it might be as you say that it wasn't dry enough.

Do you have a moisture meter then, and would you recommend one?

In these times of thrift and being careful with resources, and boredom, I have started making my own firelighters too.
I use a precious toilet roll inner tube, and stuff it full of clothes drier fluff. Use the fire striker to light that bad boy up and stick it in the top-down kindling pile. Job done. Another 10 minutes of precious life wasted.

@Dirt3 Yes mate, but a noticeable drop-off in quantity, particularly in the junk mail that the Royal Mail deliver, and also, of course, in the leaflet spam dispersed by random oiks.

Post - no, not as much for sure, and still no letter from the government trying to blame me for their inaction as yet.
Mail - yes. I have just dropped an obscene amount on model-making supplies today and last week and its all arrived within 1-2 days so far. Online hobby retailers must be doing pretty well at the moment.

    WTF that looks awesome!
I had no idea what a Vanessas Lunchbox was and now I know it's the coolest thing ever. Have you seen those really accurate RC Land Rovers?

    Supermarkets easing some buying restrictions

Interesting that they would do this so quickly; I guess either they have seen a dramatic drop in footfall in their stores, and want to get people back in, or they are confident they won't run out of stock so quickly now. Maybe a mixture of both.

Would be crazy if people just panic bought again, though.

@senso-ji The queues will be putting off some at the moment. Plus I imagine a lot of people now have cupboards, fridges and freezers that are absolutely full.

Ohhhh there's an idea. How much did you pay for it? Prices online seem to range from £99 to £199

    I got the bundle here:

    https://howesmodels.co.uk/product-category/radio-control/radio-control-cars/all-in-one-tamiya-kit-bundles/

I built it and razzed it around for a bit and then painted and stickered it. It looks absolutely amazing in the flesh and turns over really easily, so I might stick it on the shelf and get something less sexy that I can just bash about, now I have all the batteries and radio gear.

I had the grasshopper and a boomerang when I was a kid. I remember building them with my dad, so figured it would be something for me and the girl to do together during lockdown.

She couldnt have given less of a fuck, so I built it on my own and really, really enjoyed it.

Those stickers would be a nightmare for me and my gammy hands. There would be air bubbles everywhere and it would be atleast 2cm in the wrong place.

We do have a moisture meter yes. It came with the woodburner installation. It definitely works but nowadays I will buy our winter logs around about this time of year, and let them season over summer so I don't really use it anymore. If you can get one cheap then go for it. Ultimately though if you have a bunch of wood, and it's cold as fuck outside, you're going to burn it no matter what the meter says

My mum sent me a letter first class last Wednesday and it arrived today. Think there's just a lot of delay at the moment with so many posties being off sick.

Mysterious that. All my other deliveries seem fine.

Anyway, as per the thread title, watched the toilet rolls for 20 mins today.

    Nothing happened. Absolutely nothing.
