Hi everyone, I'm not normally a regular poster here, most of the time I just read articles and comments. I'm hospitalized this week though and would love some games recommendations. They need to run on my several years old laptop without dedicated graphics and only trackpad and keyboard input are possible. WiFi is slowish, so small downloads are a plus. Also turn based or otherwise less actiony stuff will probably work better. Have been killing some time with Murder by Numbers, but I don't think that will last me another 3 and a half days. I'm looking forward to your tips |
Am hospitalized; recommend me some games, please.

Registered 3 years agoI'd definitely recommend Slay the Spire with infinite replayability and easy to lose hours to.
Maybe one of the older Civs/Alpha Centauri from GOG? -

Registered 9 years agoAnything that revolves around "runs" you can play forever and ever. I'd second Binding of Isaac, but it might be more actioney than you're looking for. Most of my recommendations are strategy-focused and turn-based (it's what I like!)
So...
Into the Breach
Slay the Spire
Darkest Dungeon
Invisible Inc
I reckon they'd all run on 7yo hardware. -

Registered 9 years agoFTL? Would be better with a mouse but might be worth a try, you can pause at any time.
Definitely Slay the Spire.
Football Manager might be a shout if you're into that kind of thing.
Totally Accurate Battle Simulator is good fun, if that runs. -

Monkey Island 3 is great. Very cheap on Steam and has some of the best animation and VO from when LucasArts was still firing on all cilinders.

Think he’s talking Simon the sorcerer. Or there’s discworld but there aren’t that many of them.

I think I'll look at into the breach, and Disco Elysium. -

Registered 10 years agoDisco elysium is fairly demanding from a specs point of view, of course it may well run on spec under it, but could get messy. -

I'll confirm that about Disco Elysium, it may not look like it, but it actually needs some power to run properly. It runs at about 15fps on lowest settings on my integrated i5. The Banner Saga games are quite jolly, and also on Gamepass, and run fine on potatoes. -
