Any recommendations for a laptop for kids? My two are 5 and 7, and I'm looking for something to keep them going for God knows how long to help work school work. Chromebooks any good?

    Cheers

Yes, Chromebooks can be good if you get the mid-range. Depends on what you want then to do I guess.

    YouTube, Scratch, TinkerCad all fine.
    Plus Google stuff.

I have been mulling this over too. Especially as a lot of the school work is done on Google Classroom. Alternative is to spring clean my pc and reinstall windows and bring it downstairs. I don't really use it other than for music and it's slow as fuck. Clean install will do wonders but don't really have anywhere to put it downstairs

Just get a mouse/keyboard with a good range and chromecast it to a TV

Yeah, not tried that yet. Will give it a whirl. I've also got an Android tablet that I can hook up to the telly, but again it's old and slow too.

I've turned the kitchen table into school. It's got 2 laptops and other school work. Old Dell i3 and a hp i5. Might look at the chrome thing as they're both win7 at the moment

So yeah, my normal Logitech didn't have the range. Need to try the cheap Chinese knock off I use on my work Mac now but not expecting much

Is Android Dex any good for this? Not dabbled, just seen a few vids and I like the Kids Home integration if that's similar on Dex?
